“Fantastic Stay”
Reviewed 15 April 2012

Spent 2 nights in this lovely hotel. It is rated as a 3 star but was a lot nicer than many 4 star hotels I have stayed in. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean. The building is old which means the room was on the small side but it was still well furnished and was more than adequate for our stay. Really liked the Molten Brown toiletries they supply! The location is fantastic, it is a stroll from all the attractions and pubs/restaurants. The only draw back about the central location is that there is no hotel car park but it was not a huge issue as there is on street parking outside (but is pay and display 10.30am to 6pm) as well as a free car park about a 5 minute walk away. Breakfast was very good with a very extensive choice which is great when you want a change from the full irish. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The hotel can arrange bike hire which is only €10 a day and is well worth doing!

Comfortable hotel, really well situated in the centre of this lovely town. Rooms and general decor a little dated. Breakfast was great, service good. Nice little cafe next door, also part of the hotel. Perfect location to explore the town and surrounding area. We had bike hire as part of our package, which we really enjoyed using. I would stay here again.

Myself and my wife have just returned from a lovely 2 night midweek stay at The Blue Haven Kinsale. From checking in to leaving everything was top notch. We have stayed here many times over the years and the standard is always very good. The break we were on was for the over 55's and the value for money was exceptional. Go on; treat yourself!

Room Tip: Try for a room at the rear of the hotel; the rooms overlooking the main street tend to absorb the fu...

I enjoyed one night at this great hotel. What stood out was the gorgeous food they serve as had an evening meal and the most fabulous breakfast with a great variety to choose from. We stayed mid week so the hotel was really the only bar in town with entertainment and the most lively place - well it was off season so the town would be quiet. My two friends and I were very pleased with our stay and will return as Kinsale is so unique and will stay in this hotel again.

recently stayed 2 nights at the Blue Haven, situated right in the centre of town, it was a fantastic stay. The girls at reception were a gem, so helpful with restaurant tips, (they have their own excellent eatery), tours, luggage, etc. We hired some bikes and rode to Charles fort, then a suggested itinerary around the town. They had free wifi, and paid parking across the road. Breakfast was well done and plentiful. We will be back!

Room Tip: go for a street front unit and watch the passing parade from your window.

This is a fantastic hotel, pretty much anything you need is there. The hotel is right in the middle of town so getting anywhere is easy although you wouldn't ever really need to leave the hotel if you wanted as it has everything. I'll start at the beginning I guess, the breakfast is absolutely unbelievable, there is no chance you will leave the breakfast room anything but stuffed. You have access to a full continental breakfast and then any choice from the breakfast menu, the food is all really good and the brown bread was amazing. Our room was warm and cosy with a really comfy king size bed, the shower was hot at all times during the day and the complementary soaps/moisturiser were very good. We ate in the restaurant and the food was really excellent, nothing too fancy but just really nice food. The hotel bar is really nice and at night time there is a great buzz about the place with live music on each night, if you fancy an early night though you can't hear the bands upstairs. Last thing to mention though is the staff, they were all really lovely to us and the receptionist who greeted us (she seems to get a mention in a lot of reviews on here, with good reason) was absolutely brilliant at welcoming us and that is always a good thing when arriving somewhere to stay.

fantastic venue except, i fail to understand how a botlle of bavarian alchohol free beer could be dearer than a hennessey brandy [ 4.60 euros,] when you can get a bottle of bavarian alchahol free beer for about 1 euro in any off licence or supermarket , yet i was charged 4.80 euros for said drink[ bavarian] explain !!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: dont buy alcohol free beer in the blue haven .....
