“A good choice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2013

Spent two nights at the Trident in September and found it to be a great choice for visiting Kinsale and area. The hotel is modern and appears to cater to groups - there were two bus tours when we were there. A short walk from town where you have lots of restaurant to choose from.

Our room was large and bright with a great view of the harbor. Breakfast was substantial and served in a dining room that also offered a view of the water. Had dinner one night in the pub which was very busy but well-managed by the staff.

I had a beautiful room, with great views - huge comfortable bed and spacious bathroom.
Best of all was a really good breakfast with the "Full Irish" freshly cooked and served to the table.
I would not hesitate to stay there again. Great welcome - professional and friendly Staff.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband and had a really fab time. The staff are very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us even though it was very busy with a wedding and the jazz festival guests. My husband had booked us an executive room and it was that, we had an awesome view of the marina right from our bedroom window, very spacious room with a huge bed!!Breakfast was a treat too, will definitely return as its very central to everything and had a lovely stay.

Stayed in rm 101 and heard doors slamming, every car that pulled in the parking lot, and every person that walked through the front door. It didn't help that it was Jazz festival weekend and the band played through the early morning pretty much right outside our window. We were not made aware of how loud this room would be.
Nice view though of the harbor and a 5-10 min walk into the main part of town.

Dear Lindsay,

Thank you for posting a review of your recent stay at the Trident Hotel.

I am sorry that you found your stay noisy. We do have air conditioning in the majority of our rooms including room 101, which allows for the windows to be closed to keep out any noise that may occur during the night and we have a lobbied area between the bedroom door and the room itself to reduce any noise from the corridor, but unfortunately this was not successful in preventing you from being disturbed. It was the Kinsale Fringe Jazz Festival this weekend and there was music playing past midnight, I am sorry you were not made aware of this when you booked.

I hope that this did not take too much from your enjoyment of Kinsale.

My husband and I recently spent an enjoyable two nights at the Trident Hotel in Kinsale, Ireland. We had a large comfortable room overlooking all the sailboats in the harbor in Kinsale. This was also one of the few hotels on our trip to Ireland, Germany, and London that had a king-size bed, and it provided the best night's sleep we had on the whole trip! In addition, they serve a delicious breakfast, and if you get there early enough, you can enjoy a lovely window table and a spectacular view of the harbor. It was so peaceful and relaxing! Another advantage of this hotel is that it is in walking distance of several really great seafood restaurants, but that's another review.... If you go to Ireland and want to take a break from hectic sightseeing, I highly recommend a visit to the lovely fishing village of Kinsale in County Cork. It is supposed to be the "gourmet capital of Ireland," and if you like great seafood and beautiful countryside, book a couple of nights stay at the Trident Hotel in Kinsale! I was definitely not sorry that I came here!!!

Room Tip: Be sure to get a room that provides a full view of the harbor.
