“Great Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2014

The Trident at the world's end was lovely. Great location and we had drinks and played cards while overlooking the sailboats in the harbor. Very quick walk to downtown, but the hotel was off the main road so it was quiet. It was one of the hottest days of the summer and the AC was a little weak, but the other couple traveling with us had a great AC. This was an elegant hotel without being stuffy. Breakfast was wonderful. We had the executive double with king beds and i
it was worth the price.

Room Tip: Executive Doubles were worth the upcharge

We stayed at the Trident for several nights. It is a great hotel. Right on the marina and within walking distance to downtown Kinsale. Our room was clean and comfortable. Pretty view to the marina and harbor. Bathroom was very nice.
Wifi in room worked well.
We ate at the Wharf Tavern several times and the food was excellent. Full Irish breakfast included with room was very good as well. Service was great.
Most important, the staff is absolutely amazing. I had several questions prior to our trip and they always promptly and pleasantly replied to my emails. They cheerfully answered all questions/requests and were incredibly accommodating. I can not say enough good things about them all. They are awesome.
I would highly recommend the Trident, and would stay there again.

Dear Kansas28,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us in the Trident Hotel.

We are delighted that you enjoyed your time here and you found the location, room and breakfast to be great. I am pleased that you chose to eat in our Wharf Tavern on a number of occasions as both our Wharf Tavern and Pier One restaurants serve excellent local produce which compliments the other excellent restaurants for which Kinsale is famous.

Thank you for your kind comments about our staff and their great service both before and during your your stay.

I hope that you will recommend us and return to Kinsale and the Trident Hotel before too long.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Room overlooked side car park and road, where people and cars passing could see right into our room and rubbish bins were just below the window.
All staff were helpful except for older staff member serving breakfast, who's attitude to customer service left much room for improvement. All in all a very average experience.

Dear Darcy,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to the Trident Hotel.

I am sorry that you felt that your experience was only average and particularly that you felt one of our staff members was less than helpful.

We are fortunate that we have views of the harbour from all our rooms in various directions - some straight out over Kinsale Harbour and others across the water to James Fort and up the Bandon river. We also have the advantage of having a car park which is normally below eye level when looking at the views. As the majority of our rooms have large windows to appreciate the views we will be reviewing our policy of having additional blinds on the windows during our upcoming refurbishment.

Thank you for your comments.

My husband and I loved staying at the Trident Hotel in Kinsale overlooking the yacht harbor. It was a misty night and our view was fabulous. Staff very courteous, clean rooms and great breakfast. Close to walk the town after dinner.

Room Tip: View of the Harbor

We stayed here for 2 days and it was a lovely experience. The view from our bedroom was simply breath taking... The staff could not have been nicer, the food was excellent. We will definitely return. We recommend the pubs around for a 'hot' atmosphere and a lovely romantic dinner. In Kinsale you can not be wrong, wherever you go is heaven.

I recently stayed here with few friends as two of us where celebrating a big birthday, From the original booking the staff where friendly and helpful. Eleanor was very helpful in organizing rooms for our group. We arrived on sat 7th June for one night and had some lunch I'm the warf tavern, it was very tasty. We had planned to got for swim etc but as hotel was so nice we ordered bottle of wine and sat outside by the waters edge to enjoy the views. We didn't dine there that evening but thoroughly enjoyed the music in the bar with musician Tim O'Riordan who made our night. It's great to be able to sit on bar have a drink and talk to each other and not have to shout over loud music which was the case in some other kinsale establishments. Breakfast wAs excellent and faultless. Rooms where, clean, modern, well equipped. And great views. My only fault was we had a suite and they kindly put a single bed in for us due to is having an uneven number but the bed was not comfortable too soft and springy so felt paying same price as others in good bed was not satisfactory. Bed would be ok for child but not an adult. That's my opinion. If going again in similar situation sharing room I would clarify the bed quality matter. But it was a wonderful weekend in kinsale. And would definitely stay again in this hotel.

Dear Angeldharma,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit - Happy Birthday!

I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you found everything satisfactory although you felt the extra bed was a little soft for you. We will try to arrange something more comfortable if your require something similar in the future. I am pleased that you were well looked after by our staff especially Eleanor during the booking process.

Sitting outside overlooking the harbour and sipping a bottle of wine has a nice feel to it - I'm glad you enjoyed it! I am pleased that you had the opportunity to enjoy Kinsale before listening to Tim O'Riordan who plays in our Wharf Tavern on a regular basis.

We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Recently stayed here to celebrate my wife's birthday and it was perfect. We had a free room upgrade which was a central harbour view and the view was stunning to wake up to each morning. The room was spacious and clean and quiet also. The breakfast is superb with locally procured items giving a great taste. The food in the bar can be recommended especially the fish & chips. Very warm people giving a great level of service.

Room Tip: Ask for a central harbour view.
