We really liked the Trident and we LOVED Kinsale. Would definitely stay here again if/when we come back. Enjoyed the view, the breakfasts and the bar.

We were only planning on 1 night here but had a very enjoyable time so stayed a 2nd night. The rooms are nice and appear to have been renovated in the past few years. We had a full harbor view, great to wake up and have your coffee to. You get free use of a very nice fitness center with an indoor pool at the Acton Hotel just down the street. Free parking is included, which is great because parking in Kinsale does not look easy to come by. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk into the center of town.
Breakfast is just average, but seems to be included in all room rates since they never even asked for our room number. On Saturday they had live music in their pub, which was nice.
Good value for what you get.

Stayed at the Trident Hotel for 2 nights. It does not look much from the outside however it is in a lovely little fishing village right next to the water. The staff were lovely on arrival and our room was quite big and cosy for a standard. We also had a side water view.
Reception advised us of everything we needed to know and also where their was some good night entertainment on that night. We went and listened to some lovely irish music, so we were grateful to them. Their is plenty of parking onsite and about a 5 minute walk into the village area. Breakfast was full irish if requested and very tasty.
I thoroughly recommend this hotel we had a lovely time in this hotel and little fishing village.

Fantastic view of the harbour from the bedroom and very nice hotel overall. Stayed here last year and really enjoyed it but room this time had thinner walls and a loud neighbour which was a bit disturbing. Would stay again though.

Although not in the heart of Kinsale, the town is in walking distance from the Trident, which faces the water. Our double room had a parking lot and marina view. It was good to have free parking as the parking in Kinsale itself is very limited. The shower was unpredictable but otherwise the bathroom was fine. Checkin was without problems and we were able to get into our room at 2pm instead of the stated 4pm time.
The buffet breakfast was quite generous and eggs could be cooked to order. Our room rate was 100 euros which seemed to be the going rate for hotels in this area. No complaints about the Trident, .

I am just back from a girlie weekend in Kinsale and availed of a Discover Ireland deal for the Trident hotel. The room had a fantastic view (executive sea view room), room was very clean, staff was friendly, food was (surprisingly) really good, in the bar restaurant anyway as that is where we ate. The location is great, not in the middle of town but a 5 minute walk and you are in the thick of things. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this hotel and my friends consider me high maintenance! :-)

Just got back from Kinsale and was disappointed in our room - verty Motel 6 like.

The staff originally put us in a closet sized room in the back of the hotel - very hot -but we asked for an upgraded and they agreed to give us a suite on the marina.

The room was still very hot but the size was ok. The bathroom was much nicer than the bedreoom area.

Location was the best part of our stay - very convenient.

Kinsale is well worth the visit but I would not recommend this hotel for your stay
