Dear Mark S,

Thank you so much for your wonderful review of Actons following your recent stay with us. I posted your review on the staff notice board and you brought a smile to many faces here in Actons.

We are currently working with the interior designer on some additions to the Brasserie area which we are confident will address your concerns and complete the new look Actons!

Thanks again Mark for your review, I hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

PS, Ironically give your comment on not being related to the owner etc,, you do share your first name and initial with my husband but I know he doesn't drink Guinness!!

Kind regards,

Met friends for coffee in Sidney's bar last week. The refurb is wonderful. I am so glad that the staff are all chatty and pleasant. It makes a big difference in a holiday atmosphere. The chairs and tables are very comfortable too. Popette

Stayed here with my husband and kids last week and the stay was very enjoyable
The family rooms are perfect
The hotel has been recently refurb end and was in great condition
Reception staff very friendly
Bar staff ... Not great ... Bar under furnished - hard to get served and hard to get a seat, but there's plenty of other bars in Kinsale, so it wouldn't put us off
The location was great, the leisure centre was adequate
All in all a good spot for the price :-)

Dear Susan F,

Thank you for your review of Actons following your family's recent stay with us. I'm glad that overall you found our facilities good and we thank you for your high rating.

We are currently working with our interior designer to make some additional changes to the Bar & Brasserie area which will address your comments in this regard. We have also over the past number of weeks carried out further training with our bar staff and I'm pleased to say that the more recent reviews are now complimenting the team in this area.

Our leisure club is currently closed for a refurbishment which commenced after the Easter Break and which will be completed at the end of May in time for the Summer season. This will bring the Leisure Club up to the high standard of the refurbishment through out the hotel.

I hope you and your family will visit us again in the future, thank you once again for your review of Actons and please continue to recommend us, we do really appreciate it.

Kind regards,

We have just returned from a three day break . We arrived at Acton's on Monday afternoon and were met by vert friendly staff . We stayed in a harbour room which was lovely . The staff in the bar and restaurant were very friendly especially Louise. The food was ok but the dining area lacked atmosphere. The breakfast was in a different room and it was excellent always served with a smile. We will certainly be returning again.

Room Tip: Would advise a harbour view room

Stayed in Actons for 1 night as part of a large group last weekend. Got a really good b&b deal on Supervalu breaks, and we were really happy with the hotel standard for the price we paid (70e per room).

The refurbed decor is beautiful, the lobby, restaurants and room are beautiful.
Our room was goregous, with a really comfortable bed with down duvet and pillows, really high ceilings, and the original shutters were a lovely touch.
The bathrooms are fab, again the decor is really tasteful and the shower is HUGE!!
The staff are all really welcoming and helpful - a fantastic addition to the hotel.

On the negatives, the food didn't meet with the high standards set by everything else. We ate in the restaurant, got room service and had breakfast and each meal left a bit to be desired.
My partner also tried the pool, and noted that this area could do with a refurb in line with the rest of the property.

All-in-all, we would definitely return to Actons, the location in Kinsale itself is great, and overall it's a lovely place to stay.

We arrived in Kinsale on a crisp March day after touring the midlands and a day in Cork. We were looking for a hotel but on a B+B package for just one night.

We selected Actons based on their proximity to walking around along the harbor and the town shops and restaurants. We were greeted by warm, professional staff and booked in a nice room with a harbor view (3rd floor). The room had a queen bed, sitting area, and modern bathroom.
I learned upon checking out that the hotel had just reopened after a 16-month renovation.

The inside had a good combination of warm finishes and modern elements all that were appropriate for an Irish hotel.

Our irish breakfast was made to serve with additional cereals and juices available. My girlfriend was able to have a delicious vegetarian Irish Breakfast option that she enjoyed.

The proximity to the town shops and restaurants made for easy walking and exploring.

I would highly recommend a trip to Kinsale and enjoy the hospitality of Actons while you're there.

Room Tip: I would recommend asking for the harbor view if they have the availability...beautiful!

We were only able to spend one night at Actons, and I will definitely stay here again if I'm fortunate enough to return to beautiful Kinsale. Our room was large, modern, very clean and well appointed. We had a fabulous view of the harbor, and the hotel is within steps to the towns many shops and restaurants. The staff we encountered were all gracious and accommodating. We also enjoyed an Irish breakfast at the hotel's restaurant before our departure with friendly, attentive wait staff.
