Do not be put off that you are walking into a pub for such a fine restaurant. Great selection menu to choose from. The quality of the food is excellent, great service and what a location. I had the seafood grill which was lots of shellfish including half a lobster. Well worth a visit. Can't wait to get back!

The staff, food, rooms, service were great. The location, for roaming around the beautiful town, is perfect. BUT - its location across the street from a god-awfully noisy pub made our sleep virtually impossible until after midnight, when they closed down the music. That marred a otherwise wonderful rooming experience.

Room Tip: What distressed us is that it is right across the street from a pub operation that blares loud music...

We spent one night in Kinsale. It was a sunny, beautiful day. We enjoyed walking the streets and around the harbour. The local pubs were nice. It was a very good location. Our first floor (one flight up) room overlooked the main street and was the spacious king room en-suite shown on website. No airconditioning, so we slept with the windows open -- a little noisy, but we turned on our "white noise tablet app" and slept very well. Our travel companions weren't so lucky -- there was no elevator and they struggled carrying their luggage up to the second floor (two plus flights). There was no one on staff to help with their bags at check-in or check-out. Their view was also lacking. We had dinner in the restaurant which was quiet and excellent quality. The pub menu was identical, but there was a soccer game that night and no tables available in the pub. Dinner service was superb, even though they were very busy in the pub. Breakfast was great. If you like city venues this is the place.

Room Tip: Ask for the King En-Suite Room on the Website

The mediocre review is not really the fault of the hotel as much as poor communication when this inn was booked. First of all there is very limited parking available behind the inn. When we called to find out what to do the man who answered was less than helpful. We ended up parking about a half mile away which would be fine if you aren't carrying luggage on those narrow streets. Second, our room must have been right above the four loudest pubs in town. It was hot, so we wanted to sleep with the window open but gave up around 2am due to lack of sleep.
The rooms were nice enough and the bathroom was just the bare minimum. This would have been expected from a budget hotel but not for what we paid.
Front desk staff was very nice the following day when we checked out. We spoke to a bunch of people who also stayed in kinsale and they mostly suggested the blue haven inn.

Tried this restaurant on the recommendation of the owner of our B&B, and she was so right! We stopped in early so I can't speak about the 'bar scene', but when we noticed a lot of the local fishermen, we knew we had come to the right place. I had the fish of the day, which was hake served with langostine's, and it was delicious. Enjoyed with a pint of Smithwick's was perfection. This was a fine place with good service, and we would recommend it!

I stayed at this hotel in February 2013 for a weekend and had a splendid time. The staff were both very professional and helpful at all times. Our check in was swift and cheerful and made feel wanted and welcome . The breakfast menu is excellent and quality is second to none but what I most enjoyed about my breakfast was Lisa, our waitress. Nothing was a problem and she served about 10 of my group in quick time with a wonderful Irish smile. All in all a quality Hotel, great staff, hotel was clean, well managed and good value for money. Will Return again. Well done to all at The White House Kinsale
