And it was a nice surprise to happen upon Desmond Castle. It is a small museum up a hill in Kinsale. Be aware that there are many steps and may not be that interesting to children. While the structure itself is in excellent shape and well maintained, it was the small review of wines made by Irish emigrant families throughout history that was of interest to us. Wineries in France and the new world with Irish connections were featured and there were posters of wine labels for sale. The staff were enthusiastic and pleasant. A quiet respite from the happy throngs that populate the town.
