“Unpretentiously brilliant”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

This place doesn't look much but it's a real gem. Run by the owners - a very beautiful yet friendly and expert pair - the atmosphere is perfect: welcoming and relaxed. The menu is short but wonderful (the crab and risotto ravioli was sensational), and the wine list is long and wonderful (they talked me into buying a less expensive wine that I had originally ordered - how rare is that!).
Do not miss it - be sure to book

Great selections of wines - terrific atmosphere! Off the beaten track from Kinsale tourists. Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food.

“Very expensive”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

Called in for a drink before we went for dinner

We had a bottle of wine, which was good but very expensive.
Had a look at the food menu, a lot of wooden platters, which didn't seem very big, and very expensive.
Not somewhere you would go for abig dinner, but maybe a lazy lunch!

Recently popped in here on a busy Saturday night with no reservation, the place was bustling with all tables full and no seats at the bar. We decided to wait and browse the wine and food list and wait for something to become available. The staff were both friendly and efficient and had a great knowledge of both the wine and food menu. We decided to share a number if items from the menu, the food was delicious ranging from iberico ham to tasty marinated artichokes, a very generous cheese board and lots of veggie options. This place is a little gem and not to be missed. The wine list is fantastic with a great selection even in the dessert wine section which I was delighted by. Will definitely be returning to kinsale to pop back in here
