“A "Proper" & very cute Irish Village”
Review of Ballinspittle

What a charming, Irish village reminiscent of days long gone but at the same time ultra modern. With it's central square, Co-OP which sells literally everything; supermarket, pubs & a truly delightful coffee shop / bakery called Diva, Ballinspittle has it all. It's is residential of course with a very attractive Parish Church; friendly, welcoming people & only 3kms from Garretstown (surfing) Beach.....

Do yourself a favor & make Ballinspittle a stop off whether for a pint in a typical old world pub or for a delicious afternoon tea at Diva.....

I really don't like the beach. I hate the sand and the rocks. I do love the water but only to walk in, ankle deep and never to swim. My husband loves the beach. What to do?! Go to Ballinspittle, when the tide is out. The rocks are covered in sea anemone, mussels and other shells. there are small caves to delight and rock pools with tiny fish - all easily accessible. The water was beautiful and there were no rocks or stones all the way to the waters edge. Just soft sand. It's clean and there were lifeguards on duty and there was a surf school also. There's a nearby cafe but we had eaten in the excellent DIVAs in Ballinspittle. It was easy to sit on a rock and wash the sand off your feet n a rock pool and not be covered in sand getting into the car - perfect! You can go to the beach on the right or the left as you enter from Ballinspittle. We went to the one on the right. I'll be going back!
