Went here last night for drinks and live music. We shared the fish and chips, which came with salad. It was good. The bar staff was friendly and so were many of the locals who chatted with us. It was a fun atmosphere in Kinsale for a Thursday night.

You must go to the White House when in Kinsale for their excellent mussels. They are steamed in a cream broth with lemongrass. Heaven and a huge portion! The other diners at my table were also pleased with their meals. It is in a great central location and is not to be missed!

We were traveling through Ireland & were told by locals that we must see the town of Kinsale which they called the Irish Riviera. So we did & were we ever so happily surprised & elated to find this breathtaking, beautiful little seaside town. We ended up staying for 5 nights & taking day trips to the Ring of Kerry & other venues. The first pub we visited was the famous White House which was absolutely charming. The food was delicious (we had a wonderful stew) & the atmosphere terrific. As soon as a few of the old guys at the bar heard we were Americans, they were so gracious & bought us a round of drinks &, of course, we reciprocated. Ended up in there for some 4 hrs. & laughed the entire time. The Irish just make you feel so at home. A truly wonderful experience & Kinsale is gorgeous!!

We ventured into the White House, a popular pub, restaurant and hotel, for an evening meal, choosing from the €20 (two courses) or €25 (three course) meals. The food was well prepared and very flavoursome. In fact, so much so that we returned the following evening, too. The added bonus on the return visit was that half way through the meal some local musicians and singers arrived and performed Irish songs and music which was truly delightful. One of the 'locals' was invited to sing, which he did with gusto and feeling. All in all, for our last night in Co Cork it was truly enjoyable and just right!

We were passing thru and stopped at this pub to have a drink of beer and some good Irish food. What an absolutely fabulous find this place is. The food is outstanding and the staff/owners were the friendliest in all of Ireland. If we ever come back to Ireland, we would make a special trip to be able to enjoy this truly gem of a find.
