WE stayed for a night with a toddler. Rooms are large and comfy, loved the breakfast with the great views. A quiet place.

We stayed here for two weeks. We had a gorgeous room large and spacious, great food and the views were exceptional. Mary and Jimmy included us in like we were family. Their children were very accepting of us as well making us feel like we belonged there all the time. The festivals were going on at the time of our visit and we enjoyed bingo, road bowling and the local bands. I recommend this place to anyone wanting to see it all. we saw all the southwest, the southeast clear up to Killarney and Dingle Pennisula. We returned home everynight after each fun filled trip. The breakfast was very filling and they made what you wanted. They made sure you were well taken care of. We didnt have an alarm clock and they took one from their own room and loaned it to us.. That is what we call caring. Thank you again Mary and Jimmy will be seeing you again soon.

My husband and I were far from impressed by Kinsale but we LOVED staying at the Blue Horizon. It is about 10 minutes outside of Kinsale in Garrettstown and is a pub and B&B. We spent most of our nights hanging out with the locals in the pub at the B&B who were extremely friendly. We had a great time. The view is breathtaking and there is a nice walk along the ocean that leads right up to the B&B. The owners, Mary and Jimmy, and their daughter Alice who tended the bar were SO friendly and personable. We enjoyed our stay immensely. The only small issue we had was that the winds were very high on the first night of our stay and it was a little difficult to get to sleep. No fault of the owners, Ireland is just windy :)

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the first floor, as if winds are high, the 2nd floor is much nosier.

No need to repeat the sentiments already expressed, a great place with fantastic views. The walk down to the edge of the rocks is very nice. We were looking for a quiet stop and were a little worried about the advertised bingo/pub nights but it turned out that our night was in between the entertainment. It was peaceful and quiet, enjoyed the views of the ocean and beach and had a great meal at the Speckled Door nearby. Stumbled upon this stop quite late in the evening as we were driving along the coast looking for a place to stay, definitely recommended.

Likes - superb location away from civilisation, set on a rise overlooking the sea, but very convenient for getting to Kinsale and Cork. The rooms are spotless and comfortable.
Dislikes - limited hot water; the breakfast was spartan, and the wooden blinds in the bedroom were hopeless at one of their main functions which is to keep the light out. Much rather put up curtains.
