Super seafood. Tried the hot oysters for starters and the fish plate for main course. Superb food.... bit tacky interior. A Bit too "pubbish" when compared to the food being served.

Great Crab Augratin and some of the tables have a great view. Watch out for the back tables as you will feel like you are in a dark corner and not such a great ambiance to the right after you enter the restuarant. Food quality was good.

“A great disappointment.”
Reviewed 25 May 2008

I went to Man Friday for dinner with my fiance to celebrate our engagement. We were staying in Kinsale at the time, and decided that this was where we could go for a really special night out.
How wrong we were.
From the moment we walked in the door, we felt as if we were slightly in the way. (It was a busy night.)
We were seated with our menus, and waited for about 10 minutes to be told the specials. The table was right at the very back of the restaurant, we could see cobwebs on the lights and on the windowsill.
We ordered our wine, which arrived about 15 minutes later.
The Chablis was warm. We called the waitress, who told us that she would bring an ice bucket and it would be cool by the time we were eating. We refused, asked for a replacement to be told that all bottles of that particular Chablis had just been put in the fridge within the hour. We ordered a different (very much more expensive) bottle.
The waitress came back to take our order. We both ordered from the specials, to be told they were all gone. We looked again at the menu and ordered.
At this stage we were getting quite fed up with the way we were being treated, so we asked to see the manager.
Our starters arrived- they were OK, but really nothing at all special. (I had crab au gratin, there was not much crab in evidence at all)
The manager finally arrived. We told him about the warm wine, the lack of concern regarding replacing it, the fact that our waitress made us feel as if we were inconveniencing her etc. We also made it clear that we did not usually complain in restaurants but that this was a special night. He told us that if we were not happy we were welcome to go elsewhere.
Needless to say after that we did not enjoy what was left of our evening. My fish was overcooked, the vegetables were bland, there was nothing at all to recommend about the meal.
All in all we found the restaurant to be overpriced, poor value with rude staff and a ruder manager. There are far far better restaurants to be found in Kinsale.
