Had a perfect meal with my partner we both had salmon to start although a little salty but perfect nonetheless, the fillet steak was cooked perfectly no complaints, wasn't dry at all! The desert was sweet and full of flavour the meringue with raspberry sauce was lovely!! The atmosphere was comfortable and wasn't too busy for a Friday night but a reservation is essential !! Very nice evening !! The staff were attentive and friendly !!

No specialty Cod or Black Sole was available on Friday August 15. probably one of the busiest nights of the week. Who would have thought it in Ireland !! The owner Philip was on holiday and obviously the Chef slept in and missed the fish market as other local restaurants didn't have the same problem. As reviewed recently by another member, the Chef has a problem cooking steak. My wife ordered sirloin steak cooked medium but it came virtually well done. She should have sent it back but she doesn't like to make a fuss. These things happen in cheap restaurants but this restaurant charges top dollar. The owner was away but that isn't any excuse for the Chef failing to be professional. If anyone is booking a meal and looking forward to the speciality fresh fish always on the menu (and so one expects it to be on regular order at the fish market) best to phone in advance to make sure it is available on your arrival to avoid disappointment. Apart from the Chef, everything else was excellent.

wow! Big hit !
Early bird menu €28 (not much more than £20) was fabulous.
View of the marina.
Treacle bread / soup fantastic. Main of hake fabulous. Sweet delightful. Staff wonderful.
We went to Ballymaloe house next night (€100 each) and it was almost on a par with that. Need I say more?

Four of us had dinner in Man Friday on Tues night 5th August. We had a terrific night - wonderful food (innovative, very fresh, very tasty, beautifully presented, large portions) with loads of fresh, tasty accompaniments. The service was fast and friendly and the attention to us intimate and warm. Try as we may, we could not find one thing to be critical of. Everything was to perfection. Others obviously were of the same opinion as us, as the restaurant was crowded and everyone seemed to be having a good time. The owners interacted with everyone. We eat out a lot and must rate Man Friday as tops for us. We have eaten there on every occasion we have visited Kinsale and it is consistently top class in every regard. It is our favourite restaurant by far. Using Michael Winner's word, our dishes were ''historic''. This is a restaurant that must not be missed when in Kinsale. We will be back for sure.
