Stayed here for two nights with my mother. We were allocated a family room with a double bed and two single beds. It was very spacious and comfortable. We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff are fantastic, location is excellent and dinner was exceptional! Can't recommend this hotel highly enough, They deserve to be ranked the top hotel in Carrick On Shannon. It was very good value for money and their greatest asset is the staff. Well done

A warm and bright welcome in this charming hotel which combines nostalgia with modern facilities and excellent service! The hotel is efficient and very well staffed: everyone is very friendly and helpful. The corridors, reception and guest lounges are full of photographs and memorabilia showing the hotel's and local history. Joe, the General Manager, was only too happy to show us the guest room where Michael Collins had spent the night! The food was delicious and plentiful and excellent value for money. The room was spacious, very clean and bright and comfortable and there was plenty of free parking. We spent two nights in this delightful place and only wish we had stayed longer. I will definitely be staying there again on future visits.

Room Tip: The rooms in the extension to the rear seem slightly bigger but these are modern rather than classic...

Arrived late afternoon without previous booking, was well recieved by the receptionist and got a nice room at a fair price. Charming atmosphere, nice standard, and accomodating staff. Situated in town centre with nearby parking facilities.

After a long cycle the welcome of the staff was appreciated. The only down was the fact that the remote control for the tv had no batteries. The breakfast was lovely. The staff took care of my bicycle. I would stay here again.

We had no definite plans and just happened on this great hotel on a midweek night! The minute we walked in the door, I knew I wanted to stay. From the elegant lobby, including grand piano, to the quirky stair system, there's a fabulous atmosphere of old world elegance, and we were delighted to get a room. The receptionist apologised that it would have to be in the older part of the house, but that was just what I wanted!!
So, the room was small, No 21, but cosy and atmospheric. The bar is friendly and well decorated, but watch the steps!
Breakfast was fine, with a good selection of alternatives to the full Irish, smoked salmon, cold meats, cheeses. But the system of getting tea and coffee was confusing! We were served by lovely senior waitress, which added to the homely atmosphere!
On checkout we left a tablet (android) in our room!! Reception phoned us as soon as they discovered it, sooner than we did! Dee was so helpful in arranging to have it wrapped carefully for collection by a courier. That's the kind of service that earns this hotel 5 stars in my book!
