I recently stayed in the Bush hotel and it truely is a lovely hotel. The rooms are large and spacious and comfortable. They have tea/coffe facilities, good hot showers and bath (very important after a day touring the local sites!!), hairdryer, flat screen tv, iron etc. The breakfast selection offered at the hotel is great as you have a continental style cold buffet and also cooked breakfasts made to order so they're fresh and hot out of the kitchen - so much nicer than the self service "hot" food counters at so many other hotels have and which are rarely hot. The hotel is quirky and charming and when I was asked the owners Rosie and Joe who really are such welcoming and friendly people, about the hotel they told me that Michael Collins stayed in the Bush hotel and they have the room he stayed in available for guests to stay in - who knew!! Carrick is a beautiful Irish town, with plenty to do and see I particularly enjoyed our trip to the lough key forest park. All in all a wonderful, pleasant stay at the Bush hotel I would highly recommend it and I'll definitely be back!!

I spent 3 nights in the Bush Hotel this August. I had a wonderful trip with plenty of things to do in the area. The hotel is located right in the heart of Carrick-on-Shannon which is really handy. The room was lovely and spacious with all the facilities we needed - tea/coffee, ironing board and a great hairdryer (good news for the ladies!!). The hotel is full of character with lots of pictures and bits of history on the walls. There is a really nice lounge room with an open fire and TV which is great to relax in. As for the staff, they were lovely and welcoming and helped with questions we had about local activities. The owners were lovely and friendly and greeted everyone at breakfast which I thought was a lovely personal touch. As for Carrick-on-Shannon, it is a wonderful town with loads to do in the local area - take a trip on the Moon River waterbus which is really relaxing, rent an electric bike for the day - great craic and a great opportunity to take in some of the sights at your leisure. Arigna mines and Strokestown also worth a visit. I couldn't recommend staying in this hotel more! Do it!!

Stayed in the hotel for 1 night with a large group (not a hen). The staff were really nice from check in and at breakfast. The room was big with a double bed and 2 single beds. A few people and myself included in the group said they felt like they never got wet in the shower as it was so weak. I didn't think I would get much sleep that night with so many stag & hen groups and with it being the centre of town but I didn't hear a sound.

I stayed in the Bush Hotel for one night on July 26th. Stayed in the back of the hotel and had a good night's kip in a nice, clean, traditional Irish hotel bedroom. The front part has a lot of history with old pictures and letters; if TripAdvisor was around 50-100 years ago, the hotel would have got great ratings with the letters that were on display. There is a nice little coffee shop attached to the front that served the best of Co. Leitrim cuisine; had afternoon dinner and breakfast the next morning. Carrick on Shannon is not a particularly big town but the hotel is central to the town amenities, which makes it totally handy.

Room Tip: Look for rooms towards the back of the hotel.

My wife and I decided to go away for the august bank holiday ,last minute decision
We booked in to the Bush hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon and we were put in to the
Michael Collins room at the front of the hotel. I was impressed by the room and all the info on the Big Man .I was not aware that the town had become a stag and hen party mecca; but we became very aware of that fact after the two sleepless nights because of the roaring and screaming we had to endure until 5.30 am in the early hours of both mornings. I complained on check out and was informed the hotel could not control the noise outside and was offered a small reduction. I was impressed by the hotel and if I had been put in one of the back rooms I would have been much happier. Staff were very friendly breakfast was great price was right. If you are not a member of a stag or hen give Carrick-on-Shannon a very wide berth as it has ruined this town for the normal visitor .Go mid week and it should be a lot better

Room Tip: DO NOT accept any room at the front of the Hotel you wont sleep on weekends

Stayed here for two nights with my mother. We were allocated a family room with a double bed and two single beds. It was very spacious and comfortable. We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff are fantastic, location is excellent and dinner was exceptional! Can't recommend this hotel highly enough, They deserve to be ranked the top hotel in Carrick On Shannon. It was very good value for money and their greatest asset is the staff. Well done

A warm and bright welcome in this charming hotel which combines nostalgia with modern facilities and excellent service! The hotel is efficient and very well staffed: everyone is very friendly and helpful. The corridors, reception and guest lounges are full of photographs and memorabilia showing the hotel's and local history. Joe, the General Manager, was only too happy to show us the guest room where Michael Collins had spent the night! The food was delicious and plentiful and excellent value for money. The room was spacious, very clean and bright and comfortable and there was plenty of free parking. We spent two nights in this delightful place and only wish we had stayed longer. I will definitely be staying there again on future visits.

Room Tip: The rooms in the extension to the rear seem slightly bigger but these are modern rather than classic...
