We stopped at Aunty Lena's on our last day in Ireland. After a "hard" day of exploring Adare and Limerick, we decided a few pints were in order. We ordered drinks in the bar, then chose to sit outside and enjoy the warm late afternoon and people watch.
At around 5pm, the last of the tour buses leaves Adare, and we had the village to ourselves. Thanks to our attentive and friendly waiter, one round became three, and we enjoyed the sunset with our Guinness and Irish Coffee in hand. We decided to forego the idea of returning to our B&B to dress for dinner, and instead have a casual bite at Aunty Lena's. Himself had been craving bangers and mash all week, and lo! and behold! it was on the menu, sealing the deal.
We relocated inside the pub to have our meal. We ordered, and shortly had two generous portions in front of us. Do not expect fancy at Aunty Lena's - the menu is basic, but the food is good. We returned two completely empty plates, and were both satisfied and full.
We stayed for the live music, and a few more drinks. There was a slight mistake with our bill, (they had forgotten to add the drinks to the food tab) but the waiter quickly corrected it, was apologetic, and even comped a round of drinks for the trouble.
Aunty Lena's was a good choice for a relaxed night with drinks, good food and lively atmosphere.
