“Didnt golf but let us tour the ruins”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

We went to see the abbey ruins, which were beautiful. The staff were very kind and allowed us to walk the grounds to see the abbey ruins, which are right smack dab in the middle of the golf resort.

“A Few Double Bogies”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

The price was superb. Had to rent golf clubs and a pull cart, and thoroughly enjoyed walking 18 holes. The course was in amazing shape for the end of August - everything was bright green and in excellent shape. The greens are tricky however as the pin placements seemed to end up not on a level part of the green.

Ended up playing with two locals, and lost one ball in the one hole with a water hazard. The fairways are narrow, but forgiving and there is a very old ruin (a monastery) on the course which adds interest to a round of golf. Highly recommend.

“Adare Manor Golf Club is NOT Adare Golf Club”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

The latter staged the Irish open, not the former. The names are counter intuitive. The latter is a long course (7453yds), and is very challenging. Water threatens the greens of most of the front nine, and you will need more than a long iron off the tees, even the amateur tees. I had a chastening experience there, but intend to hammer it next summer.

“Great”

Brilliant place for a bit of Posh Nosh. Great view of the golf course and good atmosphere.
A "Have to" visit for a lovely walk around the grounds which are well kept after having a lovely meal.

“Sunshine transforms this course.”
Reviewed 28 June 2013

I played Adare this week in an inter club competition and while I had been there before it had been during the winter. Sunshine transforms this course which we found to be in excellent condition, just stay out of the rough. I would highly recommend Adare to anybody who wished to play a challenging parkland course where you make use of all the clubs in your bag. The 18th hole is a great finish to a round with loads of risk/reward options. The staff were very welcoming and could not have been more helpful, the food afterwards was very welcome and the rack of lamb I had must have come from the hills of Kerry, it was melt in your mouth gorgeous. Couldn't fault anything but can highly recommend a visit.
