We just returned from a six-night stay at Adare Manor. It was a wonderful experience for many reasons. The grounds and accommodations were breathtaking, and the staff far exceeded our expectations for their helpful, friendly nature. My one small complaint (let's say concern)--I would have expected more comfortable beds in the Townhouses. Regardless, I would highly recommend Adare Manor.

We stayed at the Adare Manor for a December wedding and had a fantastic time. The place is gorgeous throughout from the grounds through to the old oak reception area. Our room was in the nice old part of the house and had beautiful views of the river and a lovely bed. If I were going to criticise anything I would say that the TV was a bit of a 1980s brick and the bathroom, though massive, could have been a bit less 'stark' and overall the room was good rather than fantastic. The service throughout the hotel was top notch. All the staff we met were really really friendly, clearly enjoyed being there, and went out of their way to be helpful, even driving us down to the village at a moment's notice and then picking us up. The bar was atmospheric and made a great place for a post wedding nightcap after we had had a great time in the main banqueting room. Breakfast on both mornings was absolutely first class, one of the best either me or my wife have ever had. The smoked haddock and hollandaise was just unbelievable. We also had room service one night which while not cheap was also delicious. Overall we had a great stay in this hotel that simply oozes class.

We stayed in the Adare Manor Golf Townhouses during the New Year break. We are a family of 4 and the 2 bedroom/2 bathroom townhouse was perfect. The townhouse has a large kitchen and the washer and dryer in its own room could not have come in more handy. The bedroom were very spacious and came with 2 double beds. My husband and I slept comfortably in one for the six nights we were there. The kids loved having a large bedroom with their own bathroom. The bathrooms have great towel and room heaters. This was great since it was very cold outside. The ground could not be more beautiful. Ruins all over the place. The manor house was gorgeous, but a bit stuffy for a couple of pre-teens. The kids spent almost every night in the indoor pool and my husband and I in the gym in the manor house. The pool is large and the kids made a lot of noise, but we never heard a complaint. The staff is extremely friendly and always willing to help. The breakfast, which was included, in the golf club house was great. A mix of Irish and American classics since this is an American owned hotel. Loved it. The staff even lent us a huge electricity converter when ours didn't work. If you play golf, which we don't, you will be in paradise with the enormous golf course. ( The Centra in Adare is great for groceries)

Adare Manor was the grand finale of our (my wife and me) 2 week vacation in Spain and Ireland. And we were not disappointed in any respect. From upon entering the gate and proceeding to the main building, we were greeted by Johnny G., top hat, tails, et. al., who would not let us touch a thing, but graciously insisted on escorting us to the receptionist for check in. This warm and sincere service continued until we, alas, had to leave. The staff was ever present, spoiling us by immediately responding to each and every request.

We had a third floor room where we watched golfers on the links and a fly fisherman mend his line on the stream. The room was very spacious, clean and very well appointed.

The grounds are stunning, formerly used for fox hunting. We actually spied a red fox running through the shrubs while casually touring the property. And the meals were simply wonderful. We enjoyed a 6 course meal with wine pairing in the Manor during our last night. It was so delicious with matching presentation, that we asked if we could meet the chef. The waitress escorted us into the kitchen where we thanked a very shy and humble (and amazingly talented) chef. That evening, we found ourselves in the "Tack Room" - their version of a basement pub - singing with the locals while enjoying a pint.

We simply did not want to leave. It was a grand finale.

Stayed in Adare Manor for 2 nights 2 - 4 November 2007 in the 2 bed houses. No complaints with houses, Manor House or Golf Club all excellent. Booked Spa treatments which were very disappointing. Its not what you would call a "Spa" but a beauty Saloon with Spa Prices. Very expensive. No Hydratherapy pool or relaxation room. Really disappointing.

Stayed 2 nights at the famous Adare Manor, on a family trip to Ireland. It is indeed a wonderful place, one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Details...

GOOD:
--Room was spacious, nicely furnished and comfortable
--Bathroom was particularly luxurioius
--The Adare castle itself is a wonderful building, just dripping with history charm
--The grounds are worth some good wandering - they are peaceful and pleasant, and there are any number of historical artifacts strewn about the place
--Restaurant and bar are pleasant, in wonderful rooms
--Facilities (pool, workout area) are nice
--There is of course the famous golf course, which looked great, but we didn't play

BAD:
--Very, very pricey

While it was a wonderful place, I'd have to disagree with those who call it the best in Ireland. Park Hotel Kenmare, for one, was better. But this is an infinitesimally small criticism, its still a wonderful property. Defintiely won't disappoint.

Very nice hotel in a somewhat rural town of Adare (outside Limerick). Large grounds with security at the gate to get in.
You are welcomed in and given a short tour on the way to your room. Because it was retro fit into an actual residence, the route to the rooms can be a bit confusing. Very large rooms, nice views. Usual 5-star amentities. Helpful valet/porter staff. Expensive....I would not go out of my way to stay here because of the price. But if you are in the area and can afford it....wonderful hotel. We dined at the more casual restaurant in the golf club, very good food and service. There are a few things on the grounds to see, but the castle and abbey ruins are on the golf course and we couldn't figure out how to get to them.
