“Don't understand the Good Reviews”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

Although thie property itself is beautiful and the accommodations excellent, the service was the worst we had ever experienced in all our years of travel. Too many instances to explain, but the staff was unbelievably inattentive and many times, rude. At the end of the evening, I was so upset and spoke to the manager, Brian, who was, as he said, embarrassed. He said he would remove the charge for our dinner wine as a gesture of apology. When we checked out the next morning, the charge had not been removed and we had to go through the comedy of errors all over again.
During our stay in Ireland, we stayed at six top rated hotels. All, but Adare Manor, lived up to their reputation.

We stayed here a few years ago and loved the property as well as the dining... and reviewed Dromoland more recently so we decided to pop back in to Adare and make sure all was still good. It is... the service is still amazing from the moment you arrive to when you leave and everything in between.

We were scheduled for a Hawk Walk at 3pm and it was a surprise to the rest of the family so I said our room wasn't ready... and we went over to the gardens for the Hawk Walk. We strolled around a bit and when we went back, our luggage was in the room. Someone from reception walks you to your room and offers to show you how things work, but we declined.

We immediately got ready for the pool and took our daughter there to try it out as we missed it on our last visit. Quite nice with changing facilities, lockers, towels, steam room, etc.

Dinner was dress-up in the main dining room and while our reservation was at 7pm, we were the first to arrive! Our daughter loved the attention everyone showered upon her and her gorgeous dress... and they gave her a coloring book and colored pencils which made her night (and allowed us a few minutes to enjoy the food!)

Overall, this will remain a top pick for clients who want a castle for their last night... and it was only about 20 minutes to Shannon Airport!

This was the third trip to Adare Manor for our family (wife and two teens). We were in Ireland to drop off our daughter for a college semester in Ireland, and we wanted to do something special as a family for New Year's. We couldn't have made a better choice than returning to Adare Manor. This visit was even better (though I didn't think possible) than the previous two for several reasons. First, even though it was winter, the manor looked beautiful and festive for the holidays. Second, the staff was even more welcoming, considerate, and helpful than ever (too many examples to list).=. Third, even though we were late starting our reservations, Mary worked miracles to get us wonderful manor rooms and even a table for the New Year's Eve dinner in the Oak Room. Our rooms were very spacious, well appointed, yet cozy, and included wonderful views of the River Maigue. We spent the afternoon walking the grounds, taking in a pub in Adare village, and relaxing. (The town was also charming, and a recent Tidy Town winner)! But the true highlight, if forced to chose, was the New Year's eve dinner. Six courses of 5 star dining, including champagne. We began at 9:00 p.m., and barely finished the last course and champagne before midnight. The staff, though working the holiday, were extraordinary and seemed determined to make it special for everyone there. The meal was then followed by a celebration in the pub where families of all ages rang in the new year with song and dancing. The breakfast the following morning was also top quality. And the service was still going strong despite being the same staff from the night before. We've been very fortunate to take a number of trips to Ireland, see many of the great sites, and stay in some wonderful places. But this stay at Adare Manor provided my family with memories that are among the very best. We thank the Kane family for making this priceless property available to us. And thank you to everyone working there to make Adare Manor the best hotel in Ireland.

We spent 3 lovely nights in Adare Manor instead of a short trip abroad this May .It was a really lovely experience. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the hotel and grounds and loved little details like the hand tied flowers in teacups dotted around the rooms for afternoon tea. We shared a lovely room overlooking the river and golf course and had 3 wonderful nights sleep. I loved the feel of the bed linen. Breakfast was a highlight and we worked our way through the menu. I adored the eggs benedict and my sister is still talking about the yoghurt with fruit. Staff especially Maura were wonderful and even gave us more coffee in takeaway cups one morning so we could sit in the sun outside. We wanted a table by the window and on our third morning the gentleman (Stephen I think) pointed us to the table we had wanted all week.

Our only minor issue was lack of tea/coffee making services in our room. After a couple of days you really do want to make a cup yourself before bed or whatever without having to order it.

Adrare is a fab village and we worked our way through the cafes/retaurants. We loved the wild geese, the good room and were dropped down to collins bar fro delicious bar food one night by the extremely lovely concierge.

Excellent review for old world charm where you are called ma'am and treated so personaly. Not the ideal spot for someone wanting to paint the town red but perfect for our needs at the time. Well done adare

Much delayed review. I've stayed at the Adare Manor a few times now, and although it's usually a bit out if the way as far as where we typically stay(Killarney), it's location near Shannon airport makes it a prime location for our last nights in the ROI. From the beautiful grounds, to its historic charm, it is truly a unique and worthwhile experience. While, compared to most of Western Ireland, this is a bit more "touristy", it in no way detracts from the Irish hospitality of the employees. Even my relatives who reside in Ireland agree that Adare Manor is well worth the stay. Put it on your to do list. Fly into Dublin, make your way down to Cork, have a quick stop in Dingle to see the peninsula and the Ring of Kerry, and end your trip with a stay at Adare Manor followed by a departure out of Shannon. You won't regret it. Éirinn go brách!

This is a lovely castle with beautiful grounds. Have added villas not attached, but near the castle. Wonderful stop for lunch if you don't stay here. Make sure you visit the pub in the basement of the castle!

I won this trip on the Price is Right and went to Adair Manor with my mom. It was a beautiful castle and the town is so pretty. We stayed on the top floors with beautiful views. I would recommend it to anyone.
