“Our wedding dreams come true at Adare Manor...”
Reviewed 6 March 2011

Had our wedding here. 77 guests from all over the globe. after 10 years of waiting we really wanted a fairytale experience for our wedding....
We were at the Manor house for 6 days w/ most of our guests in the manor house and some in the town houses. There was not a single nothing that Adare was unable to do...
Food: we had a Hindu-Catholic wedding....all the cuisines they prepared were exquisite. Every meal at each dining location exceeded our expectations. Even on the wedding day, the service was that of royalty. The guys went clay pigeon shooting and golfing and had a blast.
We had a welcome reception at the Tack Bar in the dungeon and they stayed open til our guests were done!
We had never been to Adare before our wedding week and every single aspect of the experience was like a dream. We used Michelle McDermott of Dream Irish Weddings, who works closely with the Manor to ensure every wedding details fulfilled.

We LOVED our stay at Adare Manor. It is an "old world", regal experience. The feel of elegance surrounds you at every turn. Our rooms were lovely, complete with turn-down service. We enjoyed dinner at the Carriage House, and a full Irish breakfast as well. Drinks in the rose room before and after dinner reminded us of old world charm. We even loved the piano player at the PUB into the late hours of the night. The staff just can't do enough for families. Be sure to walk around the MANOR and enjoy the estate from all sides of the grounds. It is definitely a MUST STAY when traveling through Ireland. We look forward to returning someday. Highly recommended!

I stayed at Adare Manor for a few days several months ago. My experience was very positive.

This rather imposing building is well hidden in a parkland setting just adjacent to Adare village. Access to Adare is easy as it is on the national route that leads westwards to Tralee and Killarney and is just a short drive from Limerick city to the east..HAving said that, the motorway comes to an Irish style end just a few kilometers from the hotel entrance gate on the Limerick side of the village.

Reception was very efficient and one enjoyed a guided tour of the main public areas from a very knowledgeable female member of staff (from County Galway). If you get the chance be sure to ask to see the minstrels gallery, if possible. This is nowadays used as a venue for weddings and small conferences but they have managed to retain the period atmosphere and thr ornate wood panels and wonderful ceiling. One drawback for such an event is the lack of escalator or lift to this facility and the fact that it must be accessed by a long stairway. But it is worth the every step of the climb to view!

Accommodation was very good despite the restrictions of the period build. The accommodation offered a great view if the river and one of the golf fairways at the far side. It was very peaceful and the room lacked for nothing. The room itself was huge and the en suite was also very very large. Just as it is proving difficult to flush out despots and jaded leaders from some Middle East capitols these days, so too it was hard to tempt me to leave this room each morning!! Perhaps that description is ill judged. Lest you think this writer is a crazed despot or jaded corrupt leader, I would like to put you at ease - Certainly I am not!

The dining experience was very good. It was so good that we chose to dine in each evening and not to try a local restaurant in the village. On one very memorable evening we enjoyed the tasting menu with various wines and it was excellent.

Staff too were gracious and helpful at all times. From the impromptu tour on the day of arrival to the offer to drive us the short distance to the golf clubhouse on the last evening, there was plenty of evidence of the personal touches.

This is a golfer hot spot. Golf at Adare Manor is well reported elsewhere in the golf literature as it has hosted high profile tournaments in the past, not least the annual pro-am for charities which attracts such renowned professionals as Tiger Woods et al. One has a good chance of seeing the skills up close of some famous player or other from the European or American tours here.

The dining option is also good in the golf Clubhouse, a short distance from the main hotel. We had a wonderful relaxed meal here and recommend this as an option fi staying more than one night.

The relaxing options afforded by the public areas are good and we especially liked the library. The cellar bar was good fun on one of the evenings and bar staff were humorous and genuine. There is a seemingly high number of American visitors (and also successful ex pats!!!) but there is no sense of the paddywhackery that this can evoke from the offerings of some other such venues. This is a genuine oasis of five star standards with internationally renowned golf facilities on site.

Be sure to walk to the vilage which is a very attractive heritage village with some thatched houses remaining. There are good tourist information facilities and so on. On other occasions when passing through this village on route from Dublin or Ulster to Kerry, we had dinner in the local village hotel which had a good name and is especially popular for weddings. However our experiences were not all that good and staff were on the brusque side. Perhaps this because it was fairly busy on each occasion; nevertheless for a hotel which attracts good comment over the years we were disappointed here. I have met others with similar views who also praised Adare Manor so not just our view perhaps. So stay with Adare Manor and all it has to offer is our advice. It is not inexpensive, especially beverages, but I guess one gets what one pays for, as the saying goes. This adage is not always applicable to the hospitality industry in any country including Ireland, but it surely applies here. We will return in 2011.

We stayed at the Villas thru a 6 day package including air and rental car that we found through www.travelzoo.com and loved our stay! The grounds are gorgeous, the staff friendly and helpful! The Villas were large and clean and had everything we could need and then some. This was a great location for day trips. We would defianetly recommend the Manor and Villas for any of our friends and family!

My wife and I stayed at Adare Manor during our honeymoon in December and we couldn't have asked for a more romantic setting. We spent hours walking around and exploring the lovely grounds of the manor house and then ventured into the quaint town of Adare. We only spent one night there, but the atmosphere of the manor house and grounds were simply splendid! We are not golfers, but there are plenty of things to do other than gold at the resort! It's a 'must-visit' if you're in the area!

We stayed at Adare Manor on the night of a family wedding last weekend. I had to write this review so that I could complement the staff of the hotel. It was an intimate location for a small family wedding. The staff couldnt do enough for us and we had a wonderful experience. The food was out of this world and the surroundings are fantastic. My only criticism was that the bedroom was way too hot - however I know that if I had called reception which I didnt do they would have found a solution for us.

I would highly recommend the Manor as an alternative wedding venue.
