“Elegant atmosphere !”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

One of the best meals we had on our 10 day trip! You felt like you were dining at Downton Abbey!! Our waiter was wonderful and seemed to really enjoy his job!! Nothing was out of the question. We had a 4 hour dinner there, such a treat!!

“Great entertainment”

We highly enjoyed the traditional Irish music group that was playing. They were wonderful, a family of 4 I believe.

“Afternoon Lunch At The Manor”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

We stayed at the Villas at Adare Manor. The entire experience was one for the Memory Books! Our second day, we decided to see about a lunch at the Manor, before we headed into Limerick for some Riverfest Festival Events! We were greeted by Peter the Maître 'd, and seated in front of a beautiful old castle fireplace. The entire room was spectacular. Several couples or groups were arriving for Afternoon Tea. We were served by Tony and Shibohan. Everyone on staff that day were what we all look for in "wait staff" , friendly , knowledgeable , willing to make recommendations , and also engage you in discussion of local events, or services available at the Manor or the Golf Course. The food choices were well priced and made for exciting choices for lunch, steak sandwiches, Caesar salad, club sandwich, soup of the day or curry chicken as examples. Presentation was great and the flavour was very good. We had very high expectations due to the five star rating of the entire resort. We were immediately impressed by the staff, thrilled by the atmosphere, the surroundings, and of course by the very satisfying meal! We have found everyone one that we encountered as efficient, welcoming, and very engaging! The Manor has exceeded our lofty expectations!
Thank you to you all!

“very disappointing”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

stayed at the hotel and felt like staying in for our first night, told the restaurant was busy but they'd accommodate us at 21.00. at 21.00 we arrived and were asked to wait at the bar. 40 mins later we were showed to our table with no apology from the concierge.
one waiter was very nice but another not very professional and rather derisive also he got my wine order wrong, brought me a half bottle of red when i had ordered a sancerre
we got just one starter as it being late my girlfriend didn't want to be full going to bed, more sneers from the waiter... starter was a trio of tuna cooked in three different ways - ceviche was very good, grilled was good and the third was forgettable!

for main i had seabass that tasted like it had been reheated a number of times. my girlfriend had a lobster risotto that had almost zero flavour of lobster. we were at very early stage of relationship so didn't want to make a scene so didn't complain, plus it was already nearly 23.00 before we got our desserts which were very good but the shine was already truly dulled

in comparison to the dinner we had in the village the following night this was a terrible experience

“Fantastic setting for a quality meal”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

I had the tasting menu with paired wines here recently and found it excellent. The setting of the Adare Manor brings the experience to another level.

We started the evening with a drink in the bar outside. This is not to be missed as the room is pretty stunning. Once in the restaurant, our table was located outside the main dining room in an long room created from an original stone canopy. The light is dim which could bother some diners. The staff at main reception were not very welcoming initially, however, after this in the bar and restaurant the staff were excellent.

The tasting menu had six courses (excluding amuse, sorbet and petit fours) and all were excellent. These were crab salad, pork belly, sea bass, fillet beef, pineapple carpaccio and chocolate parfait. The highlights of the meal were for me the pork belly, beef and parfait. The flavours in the beef dish were particularly good. Paired wines were made up mostly of new worlders (Chilean cab sav, Argentinan sauvignon etc) which complemented the dishes well. There was a prosecco in place of a more traditional dessert wine. I am a huge dessert wine fan so this was a little disappointing. At 100euro with wine per person the value was good. The setting is unquestionably special.

There were some flaws, however, I'm not sure if all diners would be bothered by these things. These were: the welcome at reception (as mentioned), the bread (far too doughy and without the flavours their titles described - reheated?), the amuse bouche (goats cheese was bland and over-powered by the batter it was cooked in) and the choice of prosecco instead of a more traditional dessert wine.

I would recommend Adare Manor, in particular for an occasion.
