We spent one night at the Hillcrest B&B. The owner Jennie was very friendly, offered tea and cookies and gave advice what to do in Adare. The room was nice with a great view. The breakfast was wonderful, fresh fruit and pancakes were a nice alternative to the full irish breakfast. Thank you very much Jennie for the nice service, we had a great time.

First of all, thank you Jennie and Michael for the wonderful time we had in Adare and your B&B.

After arriving at 5PM we had a warm welcome with tea and muffins and a nice chat about the village, advice for shopping and food, and the best things to see in and around Adare.
Our room was very clean and nicely prepared.
A list for breakfast was given from which we could pick in advance and whatever we took, it was great!
Jennie took great care for our visit to Adare castle by phoning the tourist info and making our reservations.
The B&B is positioned in a very nice and peaceful area and the sorounding area of Adare is very well suited to be explored by car.

To Jeannie and Michael: Thank you for the great time again and you can visit us anytime ;)

Jennie & Michael were wonderful hosts! When we arrived, Jennie filled us in on things to see & do in Adare. We wouldn't have had the nerve to check out the Adare Manor without Jennie's tips! The peacefulness together with the extraordinarily comfortable bed allowed me to have a very refreshing sleep. The breakfast was awesome ... including some rhubarb (and apple, I think) that Jennie had made, it was so good! Then Michael and Jennie encouraged us to go to the Rock of Cashel on our next day's drive, which was something we had previously decided to skip. But we followed their recommendation, and were so glad we did. My friends and family will be encouraged to stay there when they travel to Ireland!

Myself and 2 friends stayed with Jennie and Michael in ealy May. We rang ahead to check what time they would like us to arrive...because after all it is a B&B not a hotel. Upon arriving we received a very warm welcome. The rooms were lovely, clean and warm. Breakfast was organised around a time that suited us so that we could get on with our day. Also Jennie kindly catered for any small requests we had.We were given privacy when we returned to the house but they were always available when we needed them. They were also very good with their advice on places to visit and drives to take so that we could experience the best of the region.
Overall an excellent stay...would highly recommend.

We returned to Jennie and Michael Power's B&B this past weekend. The weather was spectacular and the welcome was the same. We have stayed here when we come to Ireland for more than 25 years. Their home becomes your home. The place is run to the highest standard. We have stayed in all of their on suite rooms and each has a unique feel. Everything is so well done. She suggested a beautiful drive through the mountain and lake region. When we returned she insisted on making us tea and cakes. What a cook! The breakfast in the mornings was perfect. The entire experience is like a breath of fresh air.

Not only did we have to wait for the owners to come home after 4p.m., although we had a reservation, they were not happy to see us and the first information was, that the landlady will NOT cook this afternoon. Then we got to the room, where the used towels from the former guests were still hanging in the so-called bathroom which was tiny and not very clean. Coming back from a one-hour walk we were alone again until about 8. After taking our orders for breakfast, the owners disappeared again for the night. At breakfast we got expired joghurt and a thick hair in the fruit. I never experienced anything like that in this otherwise friendly country. This B&B is absolutely not worth the price!

Guests 2nd June.
We were suprised to find two ladies had arrived before us at 4p.m.when we returned home at 4.15p.m. as we only had a reservation for one lady from Austria with an arrival time of 6p.m.
written confirmation from the Tourist information office. The confirmation booking also
requested one ( l) twinbedded ensuite room for SINGLE OCCUPANCY at a SINGLE PERSON RATE. (The rate for two people was charged on departure).
I telephoned the Tourist Information office later and they confirmed a twin room ensuite
for single occupancy at a single rate was requested. Arrival times are normally between 4p.m.
and 6p.m. but we always endeavour to accommodate guests outside of these times whenever possible such as early or late arrivals.
B+B's do not have the facilities or approval to prepare meals other than breakfast and complimentary light refreshments. The towels hanging in the bathroom were clean and fresh and not from a previous guest. We always leave one set folded and another set hanging on the shower door. If you thought that the set hanging was not fresh, we would have supplied an additional set on request.
On arrival we always greet our guests with a warm welcome, explain about our home, give maps, restaurants, pubs, all local information necessay to help make our guests feel comfortable and happy.
We also help with their itinerary for the next stage of their trip if requested. As you mentioned to me, you did not want to dine in Adare and informed me that you had your own food. We accommdated you ( consuming one's own food in bedrooms or lounge is not encouraged in the interest of hygiene and respect for other guests) and showed you through to our residents lounge where you could unwind and relax. We went out for a short time and on returning at 8.15p.m. you were relaxing watching the T.V. we noted one person stretched lengthways on the couch . We offered you some complimentary tea and refreshments which you duly accepted. As you appeared relaxed in the lounge, we left to avoid being obtrusive and retired to our own quarters , next to the lounge, where we were at hand for the rest of the night if we were needed.
We were unaware that a yougurt or fresh fruit presentation was unsatisfactory, had it been
brought to our attention at the time, the items would immediately have been replaced. We are always mindful of cleanliness and cover all food and take great care in identifying expiry dates which we remove from use if out of date.
On refering to our “Guests Comments Book” Our breakfast presentation and quality are very highly recommended.
Our home is a 3* rural family home, inspected in March of 2013 and all the recommendations made were fully adhered to. If you had communicated your concerns, we can assure you we would have dealt with all matters in a courteous and sympathetic manner.
We received an "Irish Welcome Awards Certificate of Merit" from the "Failte Ireland-Irish Tourist Board" on two occasions-having been nominated by guests on leaving the country (Guests from 49 countries) in recognition of our committment and for the extra efforts we make to ensure that all visitors feel at home.
We are very sorry that your stay with us did not meet your requirements and may we take
this opportunity to wish you both health and happiness in the future.
