Stayed here for two days at the end of May. Very enjoyable experience. Owners, Declan and Sharon very friendly and chatty. Hotel clean and comfortable. Had a meal one night - lamb for me and salmon for wife - both very npleased with the quality and quantity of the food. Great to have a waitress serve the hot breakfast rather than "serve yourself".
!
The view from the bedroom at the back of the hotel - not great but we slept most of the time we were there so not really a big minus!.

A good couple of days

Room Tip: Try for a room overlooking the square - we will the next time we are there.

My wife and I stayed here last week for 2 nights. We had stayed here some years ago so we were pleasantly surprised and delighted with the improvements made by the new owners. The friendly welcome and the quality of the food was exceptional.
The dining room is bright and airy and the service excellent. Ryan, like his parents was extremely nice and friendly without being intrusive.
The external terrace area is in a great location for relaxing and watching the comings and goings on the main streets, as the hotel is located in the town centre (but is still quiet). For once we left the car at home and did some local walking, beach road, etc. All in all a great break and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed two nights in May and enjoyed every minute in Clifden. The Hotel is just fine and deserves its high ratings. Breakfast is quite good and there's a grocery store just across the road.

We happened upon a horse sale when we arrived and walked out to have a gander, stopping on our way at the little museum. The next day we trekked along the harbor road and out to the castle (don't bother with that place), and then went to the western edge of Ireland on the Sky Road. Back in town we checked out the churches and the shops and then had a great night at Lowry's Pub where the music was simply outstanding. Most of the pubs in Clifden have music and you don't want to miss that experience.

We arrived and departed by bus and got along fine without a car. One small improvement that we could recommend for the whole of Ireland is more laundromats.

Travelled to Clifden with a friend for the Tour de Connemara cycle race and had the pleasure of staying in the Alcock and Brown. While the location is excellent, in the middle of Clifden the experience was made more pleasurable with the warmth extended by the owners, Declan and Sharon and their son, Ryan. Food in their new spacious and well appointed diningroom was first rate with the staff, attentive but not intrusive. Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a well appointed, well run, clean and well placed hotel.

I was at a hen party here two weeks ago and the service was second to none. We arrived and got checked in had a fabulous meal in the restaurant. The staff were so friendly and warm. We then headed out and came back to the hotel at 1am and sang the night away with our own karoke. It was an excellent night and all made possible by the hotel staff and the hotel. Def a destination for any hen party.

Always nice to be greeted with a warm welcome on arrival at any hotel by the owner, but this friendliness extends to all staff at the Alcock & Brown. Standard, comfortable 4* accommodation. Excellent value. Great breakfast. Well run establishment. Hotel is bang smack in the centre of town so no need to worry about getting home after an evening on the town! Definitely recommend the Alcock & Brown Hotel.

I just returned from my sisters hen party where we stayed in Alcock & Brown. From the moment I booked the rooms with Declan, there was nothing too much for him to do in helping me. The hotel is centrally located in Clifden so is within walking distance of everything. The rooms are great & spotlessly clean. We had a dinner included in our package and everyone commented on how great the meal was. The breakfast also the following morning was excellent. All staff in the hotel, especially the owners Declan & Sharon are so welcoming and cannot do enough for you. I would highly recommend Clifden as a spot to visit and while there choose Alcock & Brown for your accommodation. The hens are planning a return trip to Clifden soon and will definitely be staying here again. Thanks again to everyone in making my sisters hen night a fabulous one to remember :)
