great experience checking in, got the quick guided tour which gave us our bearings. nice lounges on each floor for guests to relax. Bar is very comfortable and the dinner menu was really well explained and the wine list was lovely. Got personal attention throughout by Serge and it was really welcoming. Food and service excellent. The breakfast was excellent and the service again was special. I think the next time I visit, I will check in much earlier to take advantage of the views across the bay and relax a bit.

Room Tip: maybe ask for a front facing room, we booked really late and got the last room in the house

The Ardagh hotel has such a great location at the Ardagh Bay. It's an old hotel, so the rooms are really huge. Most of the interiors have been renovated recently though the bathrooms and the doors look a little worn. Lots of parking available and a nice bar and lounge area where the ebullient owner/manager and his son regularly burst into a song and guitar routine. I really enjoyed my stay here and I recommend it to anyone who wants to stay at a scenic location that is not too far away from the town life of Clifden.

Stayed here for my boyfriends birthday, had an amazing time. Room was big and very clean. The food in the restaurant was amazing! Before we arrived at the Hotel I had emailed asking could I book a table in the restaurant for the night we arrived which was the night before my boyfriends birthday & I asked if they would mind singing happy birthday, they replied straight away saying they had really good singers :). We had our meal in the restaurant and they staff sang happy birthday when we got our desserts & yes they are good singers! :) We had breakfast each morning in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Sitting in front of a big window each morning looking out at an amazing view was just so relaxing. Hope to return in the very near future

Perfect for a weekend relaxing and chilling out. Lovely staff and beautiful surroundings just a short taxi drive from the town centre. The owners are very nice and cannot do enough to make your stay pleasant. Rooms are a decent size and beds are comfortable. Great spot for a quiet weekend,

Room Tip: WiFi in the room that I stayed in was non existent. I'm not sure if this was because of our room...

We just spent a weekend in this lovely hotel. Perfect for a relaxing get away. We received a lovely welcome from the family and got some great tips for things to do in the local area. Dinner in the restaurant is not to be missed. Overall a super spot, we will definitely be back.

We spent one night at Ardagh. The place is a little bit outside from Clifden, but it was great staying here. The owners have put lots of energy and love building this place in the past 30 years. The rooms are huge, very comfortable and so quiet. The food is EXCELLENT! We had the lobster with mussels and oysters as starters. Everything was so good and beautifully presented. The service was very professional. We also had nice conversations with the owner. We will come back here!
