We stayed here for 1 night last year and said if we ever went back to Ireland we would stay here again. So, this year we booked 2 nights in a Superior room but we were having such a lovely time we stayed an extra 2 nights. When we arrived and walked in through the front door I made the comment that it felt like coming home. Everything about the Abbeyglen was wonderful from the extremely comfy beds to the food and the friendliness of the staff and not forgetting Froda the parrot. The food was amazing and the afternoon tea and champagne reception made everything feel very special. The evening entertainment was music around the piano with anyone who wanted to could get up and sing or play an instrument, it was just brilliant. The staff were fantastic and I have to mention Roger and Paul the barmen. They were so friendly and it felt that we had known them forever. Roger introduced me to a new drink..a baby Guinness....Tia Maria with Baileys top, it was lovely. Roger also talked about the history of the hotel and surrounding area telling us about Marconi and Alcock and Brown. Also Brian and Paul, the owners of the hotel, were very hands on. They were always around, helping out in the restaurant and bar and making sure everyone was enjoying their stay. It’s the only hotel I have ever stayed in where the owners were so hands on and approachable.
We will definitely be going back to the Abbeyglen and would recommend it to everyone.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Abbeyglen Castle Hotel! Amazing hospitality - they made you feel like old friends / family! We were celebrating our anniversary & they made it extra special! Great food at the restaurants too!! We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Ireland!

Room tip: We had a beautiful room / suite!! Very comfortable!!

We have been traveling Ireland and Norther Ireland for two weeks- hitting a lot of the castle hotels along the way and this one left us wanting more. The staff was not all that friendly (apart from the owner- who was very nice and friendly at breakfast) the room was fine, clean enough but did have a musty smell, and honestly just did not feel all that welcome. Over all, it was just an OK stay for a more expensive price point. I would probably look elsewhere next time around.

Everything about this family run hotel is 5 Star.... from the minute you arrive you are made welcome. The whole weekend was just fantastic... As we arrived a gentleman came out to car park to carry our bags in.... reception has lovely fire burning ... very comfortable seating area ... Check in was painless... Rooms are bright clean and very comfortable.... Hotel has old world charm... we had complimentary afternoon tea ... lovely hot scones and tea and coffee.... then back for more complimentary champagne and very informative talk on the history of the hotel and the area...

We were a group of 11 staying and met in bar for Dinner at 8.00pm upstairs in Dining Room..... Dinner was WOW from starter to main course to the unlimited deserts .. I think a choice of 16 each night ... one nicer than the next!! All made in the hotel kitchen... Brian (our host) then sat at the table playing guitar and Piano .... and everyone moved down to bar where the next piano was played into the early hours...
Some lovely touches is that a picture of each group was taken and printed and given to everyone at the table before Main Course..... Can not recommend this highly enough ..... All 11 of us will be back next year for the same week ... and if the opportunity arises we will be back again before then..... Best Hotel experience in a long long time......

Room tip: Everyone of our group loved the rooms they got....

Beautiful hotel, very cosy and comfortable. We stayed with our three children and they enjoyed it as well. The complimentary glass of champagne was a very nice addition to our stay here. Highly recommend it.
