Ten day road trip with my daughter and one of our B & B's included John and Kathy's place. Lovely clean room, fine bed (and sleep) and much thought put into the "Cliff Walk"...about a ten minute walk from the B & B. They have actually cleared a path all the way to the cliffs which include a lily pond with a small, adorable island in the center, a picnic bench and then on to the cliff views which are absolutely astounding. We took the walk late in the day and were alone. It was wild and wonderful seeing the waves crash against the rocks way down below.

I mistakenly left my purse in the closet and we had to drive back the following morning to get it and there it sat all alone untouched in the closet just where I had left it. I highly recommend Ardmore House and DO take the upper road to view Sky Road!

The drive and views to Ardmore House are absolutely stunning and breathtaking. You have to be there in person to really envision the scenery that surrounds this B&B. Exceptional service from Kathy and John who are very welcoming! They even serve a delicious traditional Irish breakfast. The rooms are large and very clean. Don't forget to take a walk on the private trail......you will not be disappointed!

Zero complaints here. Just returned from a 10-day road trip through Ireland with my mom, and this was one of the nicest B&Bs we stayed at. First thing we did was the cliff walk behind the house (a private path leads you out to some stunning cliffs; there are picnic tables and a lovely little lily pond along the way). The hosts were incredibly nice, breakfast was decent, and the room was spic-and-span and tremendously comfortable. Great hot shower, nice clean linens, everything you could hope for. The drive out is a little terrifying (the road—like so many in Ireland—is narrow and winding, with steep drop-offs and room for one car at a time in many spots), but the views are majestic. Solid all around!

Room Tip: Do the cliff walk! And take a drive up the sky road (the right side in the fork; the B&B is located on the left-hand side) for incredible views.

Located directly on the sky road, a beautiful way through the countryside and the ocean, heading up to the sky, the Ardmore house is a very nice place to stay for visiting Connemara. Lovely hosts, nice breakfast, lovely rooms and a private little walk to the cliffs.

We promised ourselves that we'd return to Ardmore House and last week we did just that. We are SO pleased we did.
How do you improve on perfection? Well, Kathy and John have done just that, taking the Ardmore experience to a whole new level. Ardmore House is no ordinary B&B. …. it’s now a mini-boutique hotel masquerading as a B&B and we just loved every moment of our four- day stay.
King size beds, the latest flat screen remote TV, tea and coffee making facilities, a tastefully decorated guest lounge with reference library and free internet access, guest microwave and refrigerator, marble hallway, palatial individual bathrooms and everything is spotlessly clean.
Outside there’s a private path with strategically placed timber seating, which leads to the magnificent cliffs overlooking Clifden Bay. We were treated to the sight of a couple of dolphins frolicking in the bay, when we got up early to watch the sun rise above the viewing point on the upper Sky Rd, the mountain that forms a backdrop to the property.
John and Kathy make it all look so effortless, but it’s clearly the result of hard work and single minded dedication. They certainly know their business. What’s more, they’re genuine, lovely people who enjoy making their guests feel at home. We really didn’t want to leave!
I feel a return trip coming on…….

Room Tip: Both the rooms we've stayed in were excellent. We had a quick look at some of the others when guests checked out in the morning and they were all of a similar high standard.
