Ben View is a family run B&B in the town of Clifden, I can assure that here you will be given a warm fàilte (welcome).
The house dates back to the 1840's and its character and charm is beautifully maintained.
Our room was warm and cosy, perfect after a day exploring the mountains and shores of Connemara. Breakfast was hearty and prepared to a very high standard, beyond the usual B&B fare.

The proprietor, Eileen, takes huge pride in running the house which has been in her family for several generations. She was happy to sit with us after breakfast and explain her family history and tell us more about the area so that we could make the most of our short stay.
The B&B is set just off the main street in Clifden with some nice pubs offering traditional Irish music just round the corner.

We only stayed for one night but feeling as welcome and well looked after as we did we would have happily stayed a lot longer.

We stayed in the Ben View B&B for the Aug bank-holiday weekend.
From the moment we were met by the owner, we were made feel at home, What I liked was that he knew all his guests by name.
The room was lovely and clean, as was the shower-room.
Breakfast was something else. The home-made pancakes which were served with the full breakfast are even better than mine :) with that and the home-made bread, and superior quality produce, I'd safely say it's one of the best breakfasts I've ever had I did love the silver tea/coffee post and sugar bowels.
The B&B is centrally located.
I'd definitely stay here again.

A really fantastic breakfast and lovely hosts, couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was a little scruffy which personally I don't mind but some might. The bathroom was fine though. Had a very comfortable night's sleep. Tea and coffee in the room was much appreciated. There is also a lounge for guests to use.

Room Tip: Room 5 (2nd floor), was quiet, a reasonable size and had a good size bathroom

We stayed in Ben view house for one night.
Eileen, the owner, is lovely and welcoming. The house is very cozy and nice. The room was very pretty and clean. The location is great and you get many live music pub in 2 minutes walk.
The breakfast was very good as well and you should try the pancakes :)
Very recommended if you want to experience the authentic Irish welcoming!

I was one of 6 people on a 1,200 plus mile charity ride around the coast of the Island of Ireland, in aid of the Kerry Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. At the end of day 4, with almost 1,000 miles ridden, we arrived in Clifden, Co. Galway and pulled into a petrol station. Across the road was the Ben View House B&B. It looked really good from the outside so we said we would see if there were any rooms available (fortunately it was a sunday evening so our chances were increased). What a pleasant surprise when we got inside.....The place was more like a good quality hotel than a B&B! Not all modern and sterile looking, this place is classy with beautiful old world style and furnishings. Eileen, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful even to the point of providing a locked garage for our motorcycles! The Rooms were great and most importantly on a long motorcycle run, the beds really comfortable. Now then, the breakfast, what can I say? well, we knew it was going to be good ever before we got it. The dining room is stunning and the condiments in proper containers not tear open sachets and squeezy bottles lol. The breakfast was magnificent......and huge.....even I struggled to finish and believe me I have an appetite! Fair Play Eileen, we will be back, we are already planning a trip to the blues club in Clifden and you can be sure we will be staying at the Ben View !!
