We stayed in Carrygerry our last night of our 2 week vacation in Ireland and wish we could have stayed longer. It was hard to believe its location out in the country, but yet so near Shannon Airport. The staff were all very friendly while we were there. We had signed up for the breakfast an dinner package and both meals were delicious. Then we lucked out to be there on a Friday when local music is offered in the lounge. We will definitely make this a stop on our next trip to Ireland.

We stayed at the Carrygerry Country House for an entire week and found our "home way from home" even better than we initially anticipated. Although this historic bed and breakfast was built in 1793, it has been beautifully refurbished and updated by the Ennis family, while still maintaining its original charm. Gillian and Niall, the proprietors, have made this country house (only a ten minute's drive from Shannon), a hidden treasure and a great country getaway. Not only are the beds clean and comfortable, but the bucolic setting soothes, relaxes, and lulls you to sleep. Bees bumble in and out of flowers adding their violins to the joyful songs of the robins, meadowlarks, swallows, and chaffinches (among other birds). The food is fantastic and is as beautiful as it is delicious. Meals are served in a lovely solarium dining room, which has views of the River Shannon in the distance and, in the foreground, the neighboring farmer's frolicking horses. Niall is a five star chef, regardless of whether it is breakfast, dinner, or a special event! Be sure to try the lemon posset for dessert! The staff are friendly, courteous, and willing to go out of their way to make your stay a memorable one. Charlotte and Gillian helped us secure the services of Matt Fleming as a tour guide, as well as suggesting some sights to see, including (but not limited to...) Bunratty and King John's Castles, Loop Head Drive, the Vandeleur Walled Garden, Adare and Lough Gur, and the famous Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. Our week flew by and we felt totally spoiled and pampered with the service we received. Thank you, Carrygerry! What a delightful treat!

Room Tip: I would be surprised if there was a bad room anywhere at the hotel because its location is so quiet...

We arrived at the Shannon airport very early in the day, and is spite of the early hour, Mr. Ennis greeted us with coffee and cookies while our room was readied. During our stay of a week (May 14-20, 2014) we enjoyed the quiet. While Carrygerry is conveniently close to the airport, it feels miles away. I saw planes take off but rarely heard one. Instead, we enjoyed the "neighbors," a small herd of beef cattle, a couple of thoroughbreds, jackdaws, and sheep,

Gillian helped us plan our day trips, explained the local customs, and answered our many questions. Nial, the genius in the kitchen, served up the best meals we had on our entire trip.

Whether for one night's stay or several, treat yourself to Carrygerry Country House.

My Friend and I had Dinner in " Carrygerry " House Hotel on Saturday 7th. June 2014. Both of us had Sirloin Steaks and they were exceptional. My friend said that it was the best steak, that he ever had and I was equally complimentary about mine. I opted for the steak with Garlic and Chive Butter on the side and my friend opted for brandy and peppercorn sauce. My steak was so flavoursome, I didn't add the " Butter ". We were served by friendly, efficient Ladies under the watchful eye of the Owner Gillian and the meal was cooked by Gillian's Husband Niall. Míle Buiochas Carrygerry and I look forward to my next meal there. By the way, the view from the Restaurant is wonderful and we saw horses racing around lush, green fields - stunning!!!

We stayed three nights when we first arrived and were greeted so warmly. Just 10 minutes from Shannon Airport. A great location for visiting many scenic attractions. Breakfasts were outstanding, served in a bright and cheery conservatory. Gourmet dinners served Tuesday-Saturday.....amazing! Loved the place so much we booked the last night of our visit before we flew out of Shannon.

We stayed at the Carrygerry B & B for two nights at the end of our vacation. Our two superior rooms were in the main house. Gillian and her husband, (the owners), were most gracious and helpful. We were very pleased with the clean en suite rooms, both overlooked the lovely grounds and the pastures with beef cows and thoroughbred horses. One of our rooms was on the 2nd floor, the other on the 3rd floor. We had help carrying our luggage up the stairs. The full Irish breakfasts were delicious and cooked to order. We stayed for dinner one night and were very pleased with the choices of entrees, all prepared freshly by the owner! Tea and cookies were served to us both afternoons in the common rooms, allowing us to visit with other guests. Gillian was most helpful giving suggestions and directions to local attractions. Be sure to try the homemade marmalade and other sauces; they are so good, and you can purchase some to bring back home! We would highly recommend this B & B. While you are only 10 minutes from Shannon Airport, you really are not disturbed by noise. We were concerned about that, but you truly do not know you are so close to the runway…you are surrounded by lovely green pastures and a very narrow road.

Room Tip: We stayed in the superior rooms in the main house. There is one room on the 2nd floor that has a kin...

We arrived very late, but had a warm welcome, freshly made sandwiches and cold beer. Beautiful home with lots of antiquities and charm. Comfortable rooms and a beautiful countryside view. Really couldn't ask for more.
