Martina was very thoughtful to let us check in at a time that was convenient for us because she knew it was our last day in Ireland. We were driving up from the south so this allowed us to make some stopovers along the way. Martina was not in when we arrived but her husband showed us to our room and recommended we have dinner at the nearby oak wood arms hotel.
Our room at Shannon Lodge was clean, comfortable and equipped with items that were not available at other B&Bs we have stayed at: large towels, shampoo, shower cap, cotton balls, qtips, iron, etc. We only stayed one night but we enjoyed Martina's assorted breakfast before we headed for our flight. She had a buffet of cereals, fruits, nuts and seeds plus a hot breakfast if you want it.
The house itself is located close to the airport, but it is quiet and within a residential neighborhood. My only noise complaint would have to be the water pipes, but as long as no one is taking a late night shower then there shouldn't be any issues.
Shannon Lodge is the best place to stay before flying home.
