It was my first time in CastleIsland, Kerry. All in all, it was an interesting time, made even nicer by our stay at Island Heights B&B. Great hosts, fantastic food and a very comfortable bed. I would really recommend this B&B.

First of all I want to thank Eamonn and Mary Anne for a pleasant stay. The both of them have been so much caring and charming. Thank you, we couldnt have enjoyed our stay more. The rooms are nice, if you cannot sleep, you can look out the window and literally start counting sheep. You can have pastries at any time and the breakfast was delicious.
We will certainly visit them again.

Our stay at Island Heights was one the highlights of our trip! Our dad's family was from Castleisland and the name was still recognized. Our hostess went out of her way to connect me with possible "family" that might be able to help with my research, as well cemeteries to hunt down. Our host shared a couple of his books on Castleisland & Co. Kerry history with us at breakfast.

Our room at the top of the stairs & front of the house had a large picture window with a breathtaking view of the area. Castleisland is not a large city, but a quaint town situated off the motorway. But the B&B is within an easy walk of downtown with the pubs & restaurants. You can either walk back up the main street or, for a more leisurely stroll, take the river walk which drops you off near a grocery store and the local Catholic church.

We were offered chocolate chip brownies upon our arrival, which we actually enjoyed later, as well as the fruit cake with tea in guest lounge. Breakfasts were very delicious and the company congenial as conversation with other guests was encouraged.

If I ever get back, this is where I will be staying.

We changed our plans and called at last moment with a request for 2 rooms and a late arrival. Even though it was after 9:30pm when we arrived, we were met with tea and scones and the most pleasant greeting -like as if we were family coming home! As everyone else has said, rooms super clean, food excellent but the best was the friendliest hosts we have met.

Room Tip: Easy to find. Instructions to get there are good. Both rooms we used were clean with full baths and...

I could repeat what everyone else has said but I think you all get the point! This is the friendliest B&B I have ever been at. The family is as wonderful as could be and the food is to die for. I miss them already!

I am currently sitting in the front room of the Island Heights B&B, and Mary Anne is making me some mint tea from her garden because my tummy is complaining! I can't imagine feeling more at home any place in the world. Great "service," but more like being adopted into the family. Mary Anne and her husband Eamonn and their daughter Helene have made me feel as if I lived here, and my daughter too!! Great beds, great bathroom, wonderful little village, and best of all, Mary Anne and Eamonn. Immaculate is the only word that fits the way Mary Anne keeps her house. Everything everyone else says about how wonderful it is, is true times 100!! GREAT food. I ate a scone the first night, although I'm meant to be gluten free, and they are to die for!! I will be back, without a doubt, and this is where I will stay!!

Room Tip: There is no fitness center, but the walk to town makes you fit!! We've walked everywhere!!

I have just returned home today after spending a totally luxurious week being totally spoilt in Mary-Anne's beautiful, warm ,friendly and most welcoming beautiful, immaculate& very homely bed & breakfast ,I would stay there again tomorrow with no hesitation what-so ever!!.
on arrival I was greeted in a very warm welcoming manner by both Mary-Anne & Eamon &they simply could not do enough to help since day 1.
Mary Anne is a very homely, friendly genuine and very sincere lady. The home baking of bakes such as scones and cakes is outstanding and is done daily with much pride and love and a lot of thought and real dedication put in to it all.The breakfast is certainly worth getting out of bed for,a varied range of yoghurt's,cereals, fruit juices ,traditional irish breakfast ,consisting of eggs, bacon, sausages, black pudding, white pudding ,beans, toast and such generousity that you'd find it hard to beat/match.Everyone is just made to feel so at home here.i wish both Mary -Anne & Eamon so well for they truly deserve nothing but the very best until i return later on again this year with the knowledgethat my family & I are going to be so well looked after during our stay.
the house itself is gorgeous and a very traditional cosy home.decor is superb!..a great nights rest is guaranteed too ,most importantly.Beds very warm and comfortable and a peaceful location....looking forward to going back already.A 5* b&b that i simply couldnt find a simple thing wrong with....enormous respect to you both and well done!!!!!.xxx
