My friends and I spent time in Kerry on a Hill Walking tour this August. We decided to base ourselves in Killorglin and stay at the Bianconi. Having read the last review we were unsure of what to expect. All our fears were unfounded. We ate most evenings in the bar restaurant. The food was tops especially the local seafood and there was a great variety of very tasty salads to choose from. The breads that were served were made locally by Jacks bakery and we all stocked up on supplies to bring home with us. We brought packed lunches with us that the staff organized for us. Both the bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless with our towels changed daily. This guesthouse/restaurant has a lovely atmosphere with a warm ambiance mainly due to the owners who were always present and the wonderful staff who made the trip memorable. We all have plans to go back in the New Year.

I did not stay in the hotel but I did eat in the restaurant. I was told by some locals that the food is the same now as it has been for years. The quality was said to be consistent and the restaurant was known to be always the same no matter who was being served or how often one visited the premises. The food was acceptable but nothing to rave about so I assume that's what was meant by consistent. The service was deplorable, amateurish and very unprofessional. Good food and good service will bring you back. Good food but rude and unprofessional service will not bring me back. Being a restaurant in a small town in a rural part of Ireland is no excuse for indifference, rudeness and lack of customer service. Try the Spanish restaurant next door or the Italian restaurant across the street instead.

Having stayed at the Bianconi in Killorglin many times, we highly recommend it as the perfect base for touring Kerry. Owners & staff of this centrally located guest house/inn are warm & welcoming, always providing outstanding service & a personal touch. Rooms are very comfortable & well-furnished. Food is consistently excellent, from the full Irish breakfast to dinners of locally sourced seafood, meats & vegetables. Atmosphere in the bar and lounge is cordial and conversational, popular with locals as well as visitors. The Bianconi is a great place and a great value.

I have been to Killorglin , Ireland on a business trip in September of last year. It was my first time indeed and I happened to stay at this bed and breakfast place called The Bianconi. It was what I had expected from a small town, people are friendly and they know each other. The owner of the place, Ray was very hospitable. He likes conversing with his guests while serving them drinks on the bar. I celebrated my birthday in this place quietly with a lovely Irish stew for dinner and an Irish stout. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in Killorglin. It has its own charm and most of all it feels very homey.

Our first room had no heat but we were moved into another room right away when I complained. Very nice country ambience with multiple stairs and corridors, a bit of a maze but in a nice way. Restaurant and pub were great, good food (a little pricey for dinner, breakfast was included). Free wifi internet, very nice staff. Parking was fine but might be challenging in busier times (just on-street).

Our party of 7 "mature" Golfers thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this guesthouse and have no hesitation in providing a high recommendation.

The food, service and accommodation was excellent.

Rick & Ray run a splendid and helpful team and they could not have been more helpful.

We found it to be an ideal base and eating place for our Tour in very pleasant surroundings. It is not a drinking pub but somewhere to enjoy a nice quiet drink and first class food, which we did NOT find expensive in comparison to other eating places in the town.

We will have no hesitation in booking again with Biancon's in the future.

The Bianconi Hotel is a good mid-range Hotel in a prime location for Killorglin town and touring in Co.Kerry. It took us about 4hrs 15 mins. to drive from Dublin. We had a decent enough double room for €100 per night incl. a good breakfast. We found the staff very helpful and friendly. The bar is a good place for a few drinks and is much better than the normal hotel bars you find. Our only criticism of this hotel is the pricing in the restaurant. (We stayed on a Monday night in April so the highly recommended Tapas bar around the corner was shut.) We were very surprised at the prices for many of the main courses. Although the food and service was excellent, it was still very expensive for a meal in a provincial town. We have had similar meals in good Dublin restaurants for much less ? I think the bar food is probably better value if you eat a bit earlier in the night. I would stay here again but eat elsewhere ! The hotel could reduce the price of their rooms and main courses a little bit, Overall I would recommend this comfy Hotel.
