Terrific location and views directly on the river and easy walking distance to town center. Wonderful hosts, great breakfast overlooking the river and grounds. We were given a great recommendation for dinner and lots of good advice about touring the Ring of Kerry.

This was our first trip to Ireland and Geraldine & Francis Mangan made us very welcome, they have a beautiful home on the riverside, we stayed two nights and could have stayed here longer as it was very central to areas we had planned to visit. We looked forward to coming home each night to a warm and friendly home. Francis helped us no end to make the most of our days which we were very grateful for. We remembered arriving to the smell of Geraldine's cooking and it was a lovely surprise to find a sample waiting for us with our cup of tea. Wonderful hosts and a lovely home away from home.

I slept the sleep and to me that makes for one very good B&B. What makes for a good night’s sleep? The ambiance of the home and this is how it felt in Geraldine’s home. Our beds were very comfortable, lovely clean sheets and soft towels. The room was very tastefully decorated, all fittings in new and excellent condition.
The views from the dining room are worth the price of admission alone, breakfast was cooked to your liking and Geraldine was a wonderful hostess. This is everything you want a B&B to be, a home that you are made to feel welcome in. Bed and Breakfasts are not hotels; they are a respite from the generic feel of a hotel, you are in another’s home who is accommodating a total stranger for a fee.
We ended up enjoying our morning with Geraldine and stayed well beyond checkout talking. Her local knowledge leads us to go beyond the city limits and in turn spent more money in other business within her local community. This B&B is an asset to the community. Well done Geraldine. I would love to say I will be back but it’s a long way from Australia.

We had enjoyably stayed at Riverside House many years ago (1990s), and were happy to find that the standards of excellence had only improved. The location and scenery are great, the breakfasts were uniformly good (and staying seven days, we tried them all, with equal satisfaction), and it is obvious that a great deal of thought and care have gone into providing accomodations and facilities that are most comfortable and convenient for the traveler. But the best parts of all are the host and hostess, who are both friendly and knowledgable. We could not imagine staying at any other B&B in Kerry. In town, the Bianconi Inn offers superior food at surprisingly reasonble (for the quality) prices, and Bunkers is a little less fancy alternative with also good value for the money.

Room Tip: All the rooms looked to be equally attractive, as near as we could tell. Not like a big hotel, with...

Our trip to Ireland was made very special by our stay with Geraldine and Francis Mangan. We, two couples, planned to stay for only one night but ended up staying four nights. Their bed and breakfast home is located on the river and the views from our rooms were beautiful. Walks along the river were even better! However, what made us stay longer than the one evening was their friendly hospitality and the close proximity to the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry. Each evening while enjoying wine in the upper "sunroom" Francis shared information with us about routes to take to different places and some history of each place. In the morning we were treated to wonderful breakfasts by a cheerful Geraldine. All in all it was a most enjoyable time and a wonderful experience.

My husband and I recently stayed with Geraldine on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. This was a lovely, comfortable home and the breakfasts were very delicious. Geraldine provided useful information about interesting places to visit in the area and places to eat. The tapas restaurant in an old church was wonderful! I was even given an introduction to football as I watched Kerry verse Tyrone with Francis. We enjoyed our couple of days in Killorglin.

A lovely location, clean and extremely friendly. Geraldine is a wonderful hostess and an excellent cook. Her local knowledge was very helpful and entertaining. We have stayed in many bed and breakfasts and this was one of the best. The house is very central to wander around Killorglin and the beautiful surrounding countryside. Highly recommended.
