“Nice and comfy and in the center of the village!”
Reviewed 21 June 2013

Me and my girlfriend often work around Glenbeigh and as such we needed accommodation so we checked into this spot. The staff are very friendly and it has a very relaxed atmosphere. There are a few pubs just down the road serving food. The village is great with many exceptional walks around, and if you are into that trek up the mountain just in front of Glenbeigh, spectacular views! Rooms are comfy and the wifi is good. I will definitely return!

Room Tip: Get up to the summit of the mountain overlooking the beach!

We stayed last week for 2 nights , and went back a couple of nights later for another night. Very friendly and clean ,also kids friendly. Being able to go back in the evening and cook your dinner just like home. Also its in a great location to visit glenbeigh, kells etc. Will stay there again.

After a beautifull, but unexpextedly tiresome cycling day we arrived at The Sleepy Camel for our stay. We had made jokes how wonderfull it would be to have a hot bath. We were pleasantly surprised to find one for us in the Sleepy Camel. This, the kind and exellent service, low price and good facilities, made this our number one hostel during our two week stay in Ireland!

Stay here for two days and the weather was terrible. But we really enjoyed our vistit in glenbeigh in the sleepy camel, because we feel like at home and our room was great!!
There is a beautiful livingroom where you can spend comfortable evenings on the couch.
The price includes breakfast and the kitchen is good place for cooking a great meal.
Really advisable!!

This is my 2nd time staying here and can't say enough about the place. Jenny and Chris are so welcoming and friendly, can't do enough for you. The rooms are spotless, beds really comfortable (and that's a lot coming from me) facilties great. AND to top it all! the price includes breakfast. The Sleepy Camel is right in the middle of the village, beside everything, shops, restuarants, pubs - but never noisy at night dispite this. Rossbeigh beach is not too far away either. You really couldn't do any better.

We were hiking the Kerry Way which led us to the sleepy camel.
Until then we had a rough trip but we found a very relaxing place in chris's hostel.

The sleepy camel is a very social place we people can sit infront of a fire and read a book, cook or have a chat with the other travelers. Chris was very helpful and kind as well. He helped us to dry our soaked up tent and was always there when we were in need. There is a very big kitchen which is very well equiped, 4 or 5 computers with internet access, a washing machine, a thumble dryer. Rooms are very cosy as well and it should be the best location to stay in that area.

This is a great place for families,I stayed with my daughter in a twin, didnt charge me for my daughter who was 6, amazed to realised the 22.50 included breakfast, I couldnt recommend this place highly enough, the atmosphere is so welcoming and laid back, big sofas, books, tv, spacious place spotlessly clean, staff so friendly and accomodating, loved stay, definitely coming back!
