“Stunning Scenery and fantastic hosts”

Cottage is set in fantastic location about 10 mins from Sneem. Gary and Sue coudn't have been more helpful during our short stay. Be prepared for drive to cottage - but worth it for relaxing green location. Children enjoyed having hens, ducks, goats on the door step and we enjoyed fresh eggs for breakfast. No wifi but TV was fine - as we expected and was advertised.

We loved the Bridgets Cottage.
When we arrived everything was very clean and tidy and there were flowers on the table.
You could buy wood for the fire and free range eggs but there were already basket full of wood and half a dozen of eggswaiting for us.

Everything was there what you needed, shets, towels, kitchen stuff.
We stayed with an other couple and had a great time. It took 10minutes to drive to the main road often passing animals but we loved it. The scenery was amazing in that quite remote area. The owners Gary and Sue would do anything for you if you asked. They were most helpful and friendly. Warmly recommended. There was WiFi but not a very good reception, which in our case was a bonus when the emails could be left behind.

“Lovely isolated cottage”
Reviewed 2 May 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Really enjoyed our couple of nights in the back blocks of the Ring of Kerry. Very cosy cottage with a great wood burner - we needed it with the snow on the hills behind. Sue was very helpful and friendly. Nice homely touches and the provisions were appreciated. The only hassle was the poor TV and internet service - only worked briefly on the first night. Very relaxing spot.

Management Response
3 Jul 2015
We do stress in our listing that the wifi signal here isn't the best, due to the lack of landline and the fact that we are right on the edge of the rural broadband signal.
We realised after this guest had left that the satelite lead to the tv was loose, perfect once it was pushed back in.

“Wonderful traditional cottage with breathtaking scenery!”

My partner and I spent Christmas week in this cottage and both of us agreed that it was such a special place we can't wait to go back again. Leaving on that last day was very difficult....we had had a taste of a way of life that was very appealing and had really struck a chord with us.

Everything about it was perfect - the cottage itself was gorgeous and instantly felt like a home from home. There was the feeling that we had gone back in time and were living a much simpler life where all the stresses and strains of modern life were left far behind. We enjoyed our trips to the local village of Sneem. Our favourite pub was D. O'Shea's where we had some amazingly good food (and excellent pints of Murphy's Stout). There were plenty of little cafes/pubs/restaurants in the village, but we preferred to head back to the cottage after a days rambling (the stove was so cosy and the armchairs and sofa were very comfortable).

The location is simply stunning, surrounded all around by mountains. Bridget's Cottage is situated on a small holding which is worked by owners Sue and Gary. A nicer, more genuine couple you would be hard pushed to find! They were amazingly warm and welcoming, without ever being intrusive and we were sad to say goodbye. But we will definitely be seeing them again as Bridget's Cottage is such a special place for us, we will have to go back sometime soon.

We could not recommend this cottage highly enough. If you are looking for the perfect getaway, then look no further!

“Forty Shades of Green”
Reviewed 7 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

The beauty is simple yet breathtaking, largely due to the "Forty Shades of Green" that describes the view from the outdoor back deck table where I ate my breakfast each day. From here I enjoyed the view of the mountains, with the background noise of sheep, cows and birds. This cottage is what comes to mind when you think of an Irish cottage, it has everything you need and Gary and Sue are great, they even drove out to fetch us as we came in late and it's a bit tricky to find in the dark. It was a perfect location for driving the Ring of Kerry and the little town is a short drive in to pick up supplies, shopping or a bite out. And don't worry about the extra electricity cost mine only came to 2 euros for a 2 night stay. If or should I say when I come back to Ireland I will be staying at this cottage for longer next time as it was the perfect get away.

What a wonderful holiday. Enjoy the drive off the main road to this beautiful cottage. The wildlife and scenery is inspiring and it changes every day. Keep your camera at the ready. Every comfort is available. Sue and Gary are wonderful hosts on this lovely working farm. They can't do enough to make your holiday as you would wish it.
I will be booking this cottage again !!!
