Reviewed 18 September 2013 via mobile

We went there while doing ring of Kerry trip. Great castle ruins in very picturesque setting. Worth exploring.

“Amazing place”
Reviewed 14 September 2013

I've visited it 2 times already and every time it was amazing.

Pro tip: ignore the fence and get inside, just be careful and please don't vandalize it.

“I return to this castle every time I'm in Ireland.”
Reviewed 6 September 2013

This castle ruin is so photographic it is almost unbelieveable. Set on top of a small hill and with one side covered in ivy this site is truly special. It is located just a mile or two outside Cahersiveen a quarter mile from the ring forts. Since this is a ruin, it doesn't take up a great deal of your travel day to visit but will leave you feeling charmed.

“Very moving”

Visited this castle as a mist approached from the water. Very cool! Hard to find, but every local can give you directions. Great picture taking, but watch your step.

“Great castle ruins to explore!”
Reviewed 20 August 2013

We loved it... Even in the blowing 30 mph wind gusts and rain today! Ballycarberry has so much character... You can only imagine its magnificence back in the day!
