I visited The Anchor, as we always do, each year around the August bank holiday weekend. It is a lovely Irish bar with a great atmosphere.
THIS YEAR HOWEVER, I LEFT IT UTTERLY APPAULED!!!!!!
It was the Sunday night of the bank holiday weekend, the pub was packed and very lively. I ordered my drink, then spotted my partner come in the door, so I ordered another. I paid for both drinks with a €50 note and was short changed by €5. I realised this staright away and turned back to face the bar, I spent about 3 minutes trying to get the bar mans attention, when i did, i mouthed to him about my change being wrong in all the noise and he instantly went to the till and took out €5...i didn't tell him how much i was short changed so he obviously WAS WELL AWARE OF IT!!!! Words cannot describe how angry I was....and still am!!!!!! He didn't even look at me when he handed the €5 to me and kept on as normal, not even saying sorry!!!!!!!!
When i returned to the group of people i was with i told them all and they all mentioned they thought they had been short changed by a few euro also but didn't say anything because of the large crouds at the bar.
I am still utterely appauled that this could happen in a town that relies on summer tourism.
