“An oasis of warmth and welcome in a bustling West Cork town”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

An oasis in the heart of a bustling, attractive town. A sunny green tranquil corner with a wonderful hostess, Cathy, who is warm, helpful and hospitable.
I stayed at Easter 2014. The room was sunny. The standard of hygiene everywhere was outstanding. The bed was the best I had ever slept in.

Cathy is a wonderful lady who goes further to cater for any need. Would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to other visitors.

We stayed here a few week ago and would definitely recommend this as a place to stay! Cathy is so sweet, and a lovely landlady! The rooms and beds are really comfortable and the breakfasts are huge - enough to feed an army - well me and her, anyway! The location is perfect - right in middle of Skibbereen. Thank you Cathy for being a lovely host. Definitely recommend!

Room Tip: Just ask Cathy and she will try and help with chooing rooms.

My husband and I loved our visit at this quaint little Bed and Breakfast! Cathy was a delightful woman and very attentive to us. We were looking for some live music and she made an extra effort to find it for us at a place down the road. We took in the live music and had a nice romantic evening to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary! The breakfast was wonderful and there was a great variety to choose from. The room was a bit small but the hostess made up for it for an overall wonderful experience! We would recommend this B&B for anyone who want to stay in this area.

Reading the description in the B&B Ireland book we expected much more than we got, Rooms were tiny, breakfast (described as large menu) was skimpy. Oh sure, there was a lot on the menu, but you were only allowed to pick one...porridge or eggs. We chose porridge. We had no idea you could make porridge runny and lumpy at the same time, but Cathy managed.
Cathy seemed very tentative and awkward, she was trying, but her efforts at being welcoming and helpful fell short.
The place was clean and there was off street parking, but those are about the best things I can say about our stay.
Everything seemed slightly less than par, sheets didn't match, towels looked as though they came from the thrift store, and as i said the room was tiny. We cannot recommend this one.

Cathy is so sweet, and such a great host! The rooms are really nice, the beds are super comfortable, and the breakfast tastes delicious! When I come back to Skibbereen, I will definitely stay here again! The B&B is right on the Mar Dyke so you're really close to town.. Definitely recommend!

I have stayed here twice in the last few years, and both times we have been so well looked after by Cathy, nothing is to much trouble.
The rooms are spotless and everything you need for a B & B.
Lovely town, with welcoming pubs, The Fair fields is a must, and so is calaghans. The owner James made us feel so welcome.
I will be returning.
