My husband & I had booked our trip on line. Cathy, the owner, was ready for us when we arrived. The room was small but very clean. We slept soundly during our stay except for one night when wedding revellers outside (which could not be helped by the owner)became very loud. The building is over 100 years old and this was reflected in our en suite bathroom. The shower was very tiny. We were very active in the town during our stay and found no need to use a lounge. There was a TV in our room which was more than adequate. We would recommend as a no frills, comfortable place to stay. The breakfasts were delicious & filling offering the traditional Irish fare or simple items such as cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit and those wonderful Irish brown and soda breads.

Booked through B & B website who forwarded our request direct to the owner.
The description did not live up to expectation at all. Breakfast was not provided and no refund given. Tea and Coffee making facilities but owner did not replenish milk so couldn't even have a brew! Had to stay in room because downstairs lounge was locked. We felt like intruders rather than guests. Owner was obviously suffering from depression due to a bereavement but my advice would be for her to give up the business until she is better. Wish we hadn't stayed for 3 days as Skibereen is pretty awful too!

We had a delightful two night stay at Sunnyside B&B. Our room was not fancy but clean and comfortable, the Irish breakfast was wonderful and the owner very helpful and accommodating. Sunnyside B&B is a great location and within walking distance to the main town area of Skibbereen. We booked well in advance and we were glad we did because it was a bank holiday weekend and the town was full of tourists. We would recommend this accommodation to our friends and family.

Four of us had reserved 2 rooms for several nights. When we arrived, tired after driving through the rain, we were told that there was no reservation for us and that she had never heard of us. The owner then proceded to yell at us and chastized us for questioning her record keeping.

Given that she had no rooms available, there was nothing for us to do but drive back to Cork to look for a hotel there. Our cell phone had no service in the area so we asked her if she would call ahead to another hotel that we had selected to tell them we were coming. She said she would do that but wanted some money for the phone call. We gave her 4 euros and left.

When we finally checked in at the new location (which was far better than the Sunnyside) we asked if the woman had ever called.; she had not! She simply took our money and closed the door behind us. It was a very unpleasant experience and we would never recomment this place to anyone.
