“A great weekend at IIenroy House.”
Reviewed 29 August 2013

We went for a weekend in Skibbereen to attend our friends wedding. Breda and Ronnie made us very welcome. The room was very clean and they could not do enough for us. We had a full Irish breakfast each morning which was freshly cooked and to a very good standard. Breda and Ronnie are very friendly and are very helpful when we asked for directions or any information about the town. We would stay here again and recommend the B&B to anyone. Thank you Breda & Ronnie.

Stayed here a couple of weekend ago, last minute booking for 2 rooms and the owner could not have been more accomidation. We were playing a gig round the corner sos didnt arrive back til late meaning a bit of a lie in but, but still we got a full fresh irish fry with endless amounts of orange juice, tea, coffee and toast.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor which had great views

I enjoyed the one night I stayed at Ilenroy house. Breda, the owner, was very nice and made sure I had directions to where I needed to go in Skibbereen the next day. She was very understanding when I had to cancel one person almost last minute, and didn't penalise me for it. She also cooked a delicious full Irish breakfast, yum! The hostel is very easy to find, right on one of the main streets.

Overall, I would recommend this hostel. It's one fall-down point for me was that I have stayed in nicer rooms in B&Bs, but it was clean and spacious.

I stayed here with my husband and 1yr old daughter. The room was very comfortable and clean, shower had very hot water temps/good pressure (important to this American) and great full Irish breakfast. Irish hospitality at it's best! Location was right down town.

By the time we arrived here, my wife was quite ill. We telephoned ahead to axplain the position. We were allowed into our room ahead of booking in time. A doctor was needed and Ronnie made a very prompt appointment for us. He explained whewre the surgery was and did all he could to help. More than we had any right to ask. In the end, the doctor sent us home and the holiday ended early. But a measure of his care was that when we arived home, there was an email asking how we were.
The house is clean and our room overlooked the garden and river. Quiet and perfect for a good night's sleep.
The only downside is that the house is on Skibbereen's main street and parking is difficult. Against that, it is a minute's walk from the town centre.
Hopefully we can go back next year and try again.
