“Very interesting”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

Nice stone circle and remains of 2 houses. Idyllic location. No entrance fee charged. We have been there around 7 pm, and there was nobody else (in high season!).

“Well kept monument that is worth the detour”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

If you're staying near Rosscarbery, Union Hall, Glandore or Leap, take the time to see the unusual Neolithic monument. It's well signposted, and the road is narrow in spots, but there is a car park and a well maintained path. The view from the circle is stunning, it's not difficult to see why the ancients loved this place, not only creating the circle but also a stone cooking/bathing area and huts, all of which can be explored.

“Drombeg Stone Circle”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

Not sure how you review/rate standing stones! They certainly do what it says on the tin. The information provided at the site is informative. There is only a small car park holding maybe 10 cars so that could be an issue if the site suddenly became popular.

“Atmospheric and interesting site”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

Drombeg is well-known but still not one of Ireland's big-name ancient sites - which means that you can absorb the quiet pastoral atmosphere without a crush of visitors. The stone circle is pretty impressive and the fulacht fiadh cooking site is interesting, both with good readable information (as Gaeilge agus as Béarla). There's a handy parking spot nearby but happily it's not visible from Drombeg, so you can imagine yourself back in the Ireland of the iron age.

“Neat!”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

Our friend at the B&B in Clonakility told us about this place. Its peaceful and no one is there. The ring isn't massive, but it has great history. Short walk from the parking lot.
