Myself and my partner are just back from a stay at the cottage and we both really enjoyed it, On our arrival to the cottage the heating was on and so were the lights, this made the place very cosy, the bottle of champagne was also a lovely thought as was the pint of milk and the candles that were all around were also lovely, unfortunately our little break went too quick. The owners were very nice and helpful.

Myself and my partner recently stayed in the Riverbank Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was a nice touch to have milk/tea/coffee and a bottle of champagne on our arrival. The heat was on full blast which was quite pleasant on a dreary Irish summer afternoon. The cottage provided a lovely setting to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the beautiful West Cork countryside. There were only a few minor issues such as, one of the bath robes had cigarette burns in it and the other one had the feel of something which had gone through the washing machine one too many times. There were a good few cobwebs in the cottage but apart from these the Cottage was relatively clean and tidy. We thought there was a washing machine in the cottage as there was one in the online photos. All in all a great few days was had.

Stayed at cottage number 1 this week whilst doing the Cork section of the wild Atlantic way. We could only get one night but boy could we have stayed longer !!! Cottage was clearly a labour of love for the owners and we had a fantastic time in the property. It was great to have milk & tea bags already there as the rest of our trip was in hotels. The bottle of bubbly that was left was also most welcome ! Lots of information provided for food options etc we availed of jakes wood fired pizza & it was really good. We had a peek at the treehouses on our way out and they are out of this world. We will definitely be returning for a stay in one of them. All the booking etc was easy and efficient. We got lost finding it but once we followed the directions on the website we found it no problem. I love a hot tub so having one all to ourselves was great. Highly recommend this place, a real treat and a good base for skib, Schull etc

We're just back from a 2 night stay at the Riverbank Barn and can honestly say it has been the most relaxing and unique place we have ever stayed. The area itself (even the drive through the surrounding area) is so beautiful and picturesque that it really sucks you into the whole experience of peace and tranquillity. The cottages and barns are so beautiful. We were in the Riverbank Barn which is approx. a mile from Grove House which boasts a cosy, comfortable atmosphere and has the added bonus of the luxury of the hot-tub and also a Jacuzzi bath! However, although the beauty of the barn was enough to make this a fantastic trip, it was the little extras that really made it so enjoyable. Things that you would never get at your average hotel or self-catering holiday home. There was a bottle of bubbly waiting on arrival for us, romantic candles around the cottage, dvd player, sky digital channels both upstairs AND downstairs, heating on when we arrived for the extra warm and cosy feeling, a 'good food guide' with details of all surrounding restaurants for eat-in or delivery options with a bundle of menus to go with them. There is no need to leave! We ordered take out from a local pizzeria which was absolutely gorgeous and in the cottage there is salt, pepper etc... all these little extras that you'd usually find yourself saying "Ah its a pity we don't have".. well, they're there!! The peace and quiet, sitting in the hot-tub and not a sound around to disturb!! I think the only sound we heard was the birds!! Total wind-down and really the type of break to spoil yourself with relaxation! Amazing break, would highly, highly recommend to anyone!!

Room Tip: We found the hot-tub was such a nice touch and really enjoyed having it.

My husband surprised me with a trip to the cottages, we stayed in the Barn and it was great and very very relaxing. on arrival there was a bottle of bubbly on the table with a welcome note and info about the area from the owners, nice touch. Sitting outside in the hot tub at 10 in the night looking up at a clear night sky with a glass of bubbly was just what the birthday girl needed. as previously said there was milk coffee and teabags also its the little things that that can make a trip and once we got there we just relaxed. warm cosy and inviting several menus from local places that deliver to the cottages meant we didn't have to leave as we arrived late in the evening it was a relief to put on the dressing gown and wait for food to arrive. the 2 days went too fast and i would have no reservations in recommending The Cottages

We stayed at courtyard cottage no.1. Overall a very nice place to stay. The highlight was undoubtedly the balcony hot tub. The bed wasn't great(quite small and uncomfortable), otherwise I would have given 5 stars. Peter was also very friendly and allowed us to have a look at the treehouses, which looked fantastic.
