“A real Irish Pub”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Great evenings, chatting with the locals and enjoying traditiional music. The people are warm and friendly and always have a tale to tell. Ma Murphys gets very busy and it may take a while to get served but the music bar at the back attracts singers and musicians and we were lucky enough to enjoy some talented violinists who were there for the chamber music festival.

“A real Irish pub”
Reviewed 2 July 2014

A really authentic Irish pub with friendly staff and chatty customers. Sadly, no live music on the night we went, but I bet it has a real buzz on the nights when there is music. Definitely worth popping in for a pint of the black stuff when in Bantry.

“Everything you'd expect from an Irish Pub”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

A warren of little rooms and a saloon bar lead on to a beer garden and then a back room where impromptu fiddlers are gathered. What a treat, we were jam packed with locals and visiting musicians and everyone talked to everyone. The bar staff were vocal and friendly and there was a terrific atmosphere in the place. We left late but will return!

Lovely old bar in central Bantry town. Good Guinness, beer and friendly service. Also sells sweets and groceries. Bar has many cosy corners. I cannot recommend this pub enough.
