We Visited Mannings emporium on a trip to the bantry recently,Located off the main bantry glengarriff road it has a busy passing trade popping in.It seem to be ran by an rather unfriendly gentleman who was in the background preparing the food and lots of young staff...We had a baby in tow,but they had no problem facilitating us with a baby chair while we had our lunch. We requested the baby food be heated but they have no micro wave for this purchase, perhaps this is an unusual request for them, however they provided a bowl of hot water for this purpose. We ordered the special tasting platter for two people priced at 16 euros.....it was tasty with a good mixture off cheeses and meats but slightly overpriced I taught. We asked for some extra bread to finish our platter which they provided however they charged an extra 1.50 for this...this was a little cheeky and I must say a first for us to be charged for extra bread.A bit of an tourist trap I felt. The toilet facilities need serious upgrading as the present set up is damp and unsuitable.we left happy enough however the extra cost payed for the bread and the condition of toilets took away from the experience

We were so pleased to find the Emporium which came recommended by friends caravaning nearby. Mannings has a fine deli counter with a great range of local Irish/Cork cheeses. I bought about 100 gms of seven varieties which, with local soda bread.... were delicious, fantastic for our picnic. A visit to Cork is made so much better knowing the treat of tasting the local cheeses once more

Sunday morning at Mannings too seems to be a meeting place for local residents - to enjoy chat, take coffee and read the morning paper. If you are passing or staying nearby try it. The deli-cafe is friendly and offers a great Ballalickey welcome. We really enjoyed it

Great place to stop for cheese, tapas, anti pasti and the like. Friendly service and lovely deli if you want to bring home some of the produce. Everything great except cappuccino which could be better. A very minor gripe.

A friend and I had a meal here last week and it was, as other reviewers have said, excellent. We had, as you do in Mannings, a selection of cheeses and meat and salami with garlic, tomatoes relish etc and fresh bread which we selected. The quality was superb and presented on wooden boards. We decided to have one of their dry sherries to accompany the meal and it was an excellent foil for the richness of our food. We ended with coffee which was excellent - again great to see the improvement in the quality of coffee being served in Ireland. The staff are very nice and their professional yet relaxed attitude makes for a very pleasant experience. We hope to return again when we are in Ballylickey.
