Incredibly quaint. Stunning location with amazing views.
Julie has catered for everything. The cottage is homely yet oozes an elegance. Shabby chic is married beautifully with high end fixtures and fittings (fired earth). The bedrooms are well laid out with the two main bedrooms in cottage and studio having the stunning views over the water.
The Rayburn adds to the charm of the kitchen which is equipped with every utensil you might need.
Antiques and pottery adorns every nook and cranny.
The Bed linen is Egyptian cotton and offers added luxury
The cottage is clean and tidy
The pool is cute and gives 5 star rating but it is freezing,so he warned.
There are local places to eat, maybe two or three but book ahead in season
Bantry itself is a good drive away so you need a designated driver
The cottage sleeps 6 and the studio up to 3
And would suit extended family or close friends
There are plenty bathroom s with 2 ensuites.
Lots of board games available for family.
Constructive critique- the hot water in showers in studio could be warmer (Luke warm)
Otherwise As per Sawday - a stunning property upgraded and renovated with love and care
We spent 3 nights here in July, we were lucky with the weather and were able to use the pool which had a fabulous view of the sea. The cottage itself is beautifully built and decorated to the highest of standards. There are 3 reception rooms/areas so there was plenty of space to relax. There is also a lovely area outside to sit with spectacular views. Last but by no means least, the owner of the property Julie was extremely helpful before, during and after our holiday and ensured that everything went smoothly.
This is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in one of the most beautiful places. Everything is thought of in the cottage- beautifully comfy beds with White Company bedding, amazing art around the cottage, a lovely turf open fire and a homely Rayburn to cook on. Julie went out of her way to look after us- we arrived on a Bank holiday so she told us where we could shop and booked a table for us in a local pub. We found the sheep's head peninsula utterly enchanting. Great for walks, great for swimming, lovely cafes and everywhere we were welcomed with characteristic West Cork warmth. We also went whale watching and visited lovely Barley Cove beach on the Mizen. We found the whole experience in such a remote and quiet place very healing. It was one of the best holidays we have ever had and we can't wait to go back.
From the very first interaction to the last this was the most pain and hassle free experience. Email exchanges were incredibly swift and all questions were answered immediately.
The stay itself was heaven on earth, I've never seen such a perfect example of a high end luxury cottage setbin the most beautiful location imaginable.
Everything you could possibly want is catered for making this the ideal property for short or long stays.
I will most definitely be back! Loved every single second of our time at Laharandota.
We had a beautiful weekend stay at the artist's cottage, our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. We will definitely return some day. Julie has thought of everything to make the cottage so comfortable and cosy. A lovely place to stay at any time of year. Views from the cottage are amazing and plenty of outdoor things to do on your doorstep. Swim in the gorgeous pool, walk the Sheep's way or take the bikes out.
Fabulously appointed, comfortable cottage and studio and beautiful views of the bay. highly recommend.
Returning to the Artists' Cottage and Studio for the fourth time is like rediscovering an old friend. So much in common and so much to explore. The area never disappoints - the walks are out of this world, the beaches so dramatic and beautiful, the people so friendly, lovely pubs and restaurants. The cottage and studio are an oasis - cool by the pool after a hot day and cosy by the fire after a chilly day. Watching the sun go down from the conservatory with our two black labradors is one of my favourite times of the day. Cooking breakfast on the aga, an early morning dip in the pool for the hardy; just a few of our favourite things at Laharandota.
