The food here is excellent for the price and you can't beat the location. Friendly staff, clean and welcoming. Try it for breakfast or lunch or both!

On a drive from Macroom around Cork we stopped at Bantry and needed a snack. This lovely café was opposite where we parked and looked nice. Got scones and tea. Very nice. Good service. Scone was not heated but then again I never asked for it heated, but it was lovely regardless.
Would return.

3 Adults,2 toddlers, a 5 year old and a baby were catered for beautifully with all the differing needs for a late freshly cooked breakfast by very friendly staff at a very reasonable price.

We looked for a good caffe latte, which was hard to find on Bantry, but the service in the De Barra's Cafe was very friendly, they gave us mild for our little son without charging it.

Stopped at De Barra,s on arrival at Bantry after a long drive and it set the tone for our stay in West Cork. The staff were so cheerful and friendly - I thought they must be mistaken us for people they knew !!. Really nice nice and chatty. Our waitress recommended places to visit and really made us feel welcome. When we told her we hadn't booked in anywhere she recommended a place on the other side of the Quay which turned out to be excellent - newly converted, just perfect and very reasonably priced. ( Cant remember the name of it at the moment !) .We had breakfast there the following morning and it was lovely to be able to pick and choose from a menu of porridge, dry cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, juices and the more usual full Irish. It would be so nice if more cafe/restaurants in Ireland offered a variety like this. Bantry Bay is a lovely clean, pretty, well kept and very friendly town. Plenty shops, pubs and restaurants yet it has a real homely atmosphere. They make a big effort for the tourist even the parking system is exceptional - 2 hrs free on the streets right in the centre of town. Thank you De Barra,s for giving us the welcome that persuaded us to stay - and to return again soon. !!
