“Peaceful and friendly B and B in beautiful location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2013

I can only echo the previous reviews of this wonderful B and B. From the moment you arrive you will feel welcome and at home so its the perfect place to simply wind down and relax. Rita and Lainey are excellent hosts - always ready to offer advice on whats happening locally or to chat - and Rita's breakfasts, cooked to order each morning are superb. The rooms are modern, simply but adequately furnished. There is a large kitchen/diner/sitting area just for guests so you can help yourself to hot drinks or wine and beer from the honesty bar. You can also cook your meals there if you want to. The garden, which you are welcome to enjoy, is large and beautiful. The highlight of my stay (apart from Rita's breakfasts!) was the walk from the house through a forest to a secluded cove, where you can sit and watch the resident seal at play. Rita is an experienced shiatsu practitioner and so a treatment can be part of your package - I highly recommend this!

From the minute I arrived at the Bellatrix I felt very welcome and at home. Rita and Lainey have a lovely place. It made a wonderful base to stay as I toured the Beara Peninsula for three days. My room was cosy and clean, bed was comfortable and breakfasts made to perfection. If I could I would have loved to stay longer. Sad to leave the Bellatrix and the rugged beauty of the Beara.

If you like great views with and without rainbows while having you favorite breakfast, Bellatrix is the place to go. Rita will spoil you not only with good food, but also knows the ins and outs of the Beara's specialities for walking, cycling, stoen-circles, sightseeing and other outdoor activities. I felt very welcome, sat in the garden listening to birds, admiring the flowers during the day and 'glowing stones' at nite - it is very inviting to just relax in tranquility at Bellatrix, alternatively play some table tennis or go for a swim through the forest to the nearby bay.
The rooms are cosy and clean, excellent mattresses and each room has it's own atmosphere. I liked it so much that I went back for another few days in autumn - and was as pleased as the first time. Bellatrix is certainly a brilliant discovery for women looking for a quiet spot in natural beauty with Rita and Lainey being the most friendly hosts.
