Stayed here for a night. Great location staff very friendly, we were an hour early but that was no hassle. Rooms very outdated and the view to the back was awful. But I wasn't there to spend time in my room. Cobh itself is lovely, the only thing I found was nearly all the shops closed for lunch. Tradition I'm sure locals are used too. We hopped on the train to cork and had a great day. The commodore hotel is in a great location. Breakfast was delicious and this alone was worth the stay. No greasiness at all, n as well as full Irish cooked breakfast they have a selection of continental breakfasts. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Front view would definitely be my request on next visit ;-)

Did not stay but had lunch. We wanted to see the last place many of the passengers would have stayed before joining the Titanic. Great to see many of the old features have been kept in place. There is such an aura about the place an great views of the harbour

Charming decor downstairs with a lovely modern bar area, great location and a fascinating history but sadly the rooms are quite old and worn out with damage to fittings in the bathrooms and quite a dark atmosphere.
Breakfast was great but the staff seemed a bit grumpy and overall i would say that the Commodore is a little overpriced for what it offers.

Room Tip: Try to get a sea view room as the rooms at the back are quite dark and gloomy.

The hotel has a good location, facing the water front. There is a restaurant and pub in the hotel, and plenty of others within walking distance. It is also within walking distance of the Titanic Experience, if you are headed there. The hotel itself is fairly old, and could probably do with some updating. My room was large, with a large bathroom, but all was old. The room looked out to a garbage/storage/parking area, so there was no view to speak of. I believe you can request sea view, and that may be the way to go. We booked on a special deal, and got three nights, breakfast included, and one dinner. It was a good value, in a good location.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view.

The Commodore Hotel has a wonderful menu that is 90% gluten free. I spoke to the chef who knows exactly what he is doing, he prepares good, well priced, gluten free meals. It is not easy finding a good gluten free restaurant to eat at but the Commodore is one of them!
I didn't stay here - just ate meals here, so I can't comment on the accommodation.

I had a difficult time choosing hotels on our 1 week stay in Ireland and this was one chose. We stayed here 2 nights. It was a great location and lots of things to see around the area but....the room was really nasty. The bathroom had mold all around the tub and sink. On the ledge was a dead bee that stayed there for 2 days...with maid service. Plus we had to pay extra for parking. I guess the location made up for it?

Room Tip: our room looked out over the garbage area..ok we don't stay in our room very long but the lady t...

Dear Helen,
I was disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your stay in the Commodore Hotel. I have followed up your feedback with the housekeeping staff and I assure you that this is the exception rather than the norm.
In relation to parking, we do have free car parking with limited spaces at the rear of the hotel which operates on a key system. Spaces are offered on a first come first served basis. There is a deposit for the key but this is fully refundable. There is paid parking on the street.
We do hope that in the future you return to Cobh and the Commodore Hotel.
Regards,
Robert Fitzpatrick
