We have just come back from a weekend in this hotel. The staff are exceptionally friendly and bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed from breakfast right through to bedtime. The location is excellent with wonderful views. The bar serves a nice pint and the food is lovely with great deals for kids. Service was very quick even though we were in a large group. Will most definately be returning.

From the time we arrived until we left the hotel, we were made feel so welcome by management, staff and even the locals that we happened to meet during our stay. The hotel itself is located in a very picturious part of the town looking out on to the waters edge. First impressions on arrival were, it seemed to be warm, clean and had a friendliness about it. Fine sized room + toilet/shower. The food was excellent and it was nice to relax afterwards in the bar for a drink and friendly banter with some of the locals and hotel residents which was one of the highlights of our stay. We would highly recommend it for any couple or family for a "home away from home" break with plenty to do and see nearby. Made some new friends and look forward to seeing them again in the not too distant future. Brid and Gerry.

Room Tip: Get a room at the front overlooking the watersedge..

We have stayed in the Commodore many times and have always received a warm and friendly welcome at reception.the hotel is old but has a charm of bygone days. Rooms are very clean, some are a little tired looking but the old elegance is still visible. Sea view rooms give a superb vista over the harbour and park. Food in the restaurant or in the bar is of excellent quality.Staff are very nice and attentive, in fact all the staff there are friendly. The hotel offers good value for money and is in a great location.Cobh is a lovely town to visit.

Stay here regularly with work and have really come to like this place.

I've read some of the previous reviews, although mainly positive I'am suprised at the odd less
than favourable remark. Yes, it's no Four Seasons and maybe in need of a bit of an update but
I'am not sure what some people expect when booking a two star hotel.

To me the hotel has lots of character. The bedrooms are comfortable and warm. The staff are fantastic and helpful in everyway and the food, especially the fish dishes, are very good. In general, it's just a nice place with a good athmosphere. I would recommend this place if what you're looking for is a homely type hotel.

We had our Wedding back in July at the Commodore Hotel, in our home town, and in the hotel where we more or less grew up. I personally wanted to go there for our wedding, as our families and I, have always wined and dined there, as well as myself, my brother, my wifes father, mother and two sisters, have worked there down through the years. We have all had family events there and have always been well looked after by the O'Shea family and their staff down through the years, so we felt we wanted to give something back.

From initially booking with Robert Fitzpatrick, everything was so comfortable in the build up to the big day. Robert and his crew looked after us brilliantly throughout. I would like to thank them all again, the whole team at the Commodore. The food was superb and all commented on how beautiful it was. The roof garden set up on the day of the wedding and the day after was just the icing on the cake (not the weeding cake). The weather at nearly 30 degrees celcius made the whole weekend even more enjoyable. If I knew it was going to be that hot, I would have worn shorts.

If you are reading this review and you are considering the Commodore for a Wedding, you don't need to think too hard. If you are from Cobh, keep the business close to home, you will be looked after better than any where.

To summarise, we are sorry we have taken so long to write this review, but thank s to the Commodore owners, management and staff for the way in which they looked after us on our Wedding day and still to this day.

Regards
John & Tanya
