We stayed here for 3 nights. The staff were great, the breakfast was good, if a little undercooked. The facilities for the wedding we attended there were above average. The evening food was good, they have a new chef I understand, however he needs to season a little less, way to much salt and pepper! The bar is good plenty of choice in drinks. Our only problem was the room. It needs some serious work to get to standard. The bathroom is dated and the sink is cracked, the floor slants downwards from window to door, so I was constantly rolling onto my wife during the night! There was an extra single bed in the room so I slept in that instead. The double bed was too narrow too anyway for two adults, and (neither of us are overweight). But the biggest problem was the door. It didn't keep out any noise from the corridor. The room opposite had a very strong door closer on it and a family that were constantly in and out slamming their door. We had a baby with us that kept being woken by this. Also a lot of light was let in around the edge of our door. Having said all this, the room was not over priced so we didn't complain, plus we were with a large group of people for the wedding, so we didn't want a reputation for complaining! We would stay again but would choose our room carefully first.

If ever you go to the beautiful town of Cobh for a night or a week in my opinion The Commodore is the only place to stay.It is a beautiful building with lots of charm and character. It is in a wonderful location overlooking Cobh harbour, right in the town, and a five minute walk to the train station. The food in the Hotel is excellent and very good value for money. The staff are great and again in my opion really suit the Hotel.A great place to stay particularly if you want to get away from the more sterile modern Hotels of today.Any time i go to Cobh i will always stay there.

Lovely old building with lots of character, wonderful high ceilings in the rooms, and they upgraded our room up, which was lovely. The best thing (apart from the view and location) was definitely the breakfast, which was a buffet (or anything else you could want on request). Loads and loads of hot food and continental options as well.

The room had wonderful enormous windows that looked out over the water, and a very nice bathroom.

Excellent value!

Great Hotel with best ocean views in the heart of Cobh. Delicious breakfast and great Irish pub atmosphere. Recommended for family accommodation. September nice warm weather. Cobh is full of Titanic history featuring a White Star Line booking office.

We had a room overlooking the water. The view was absolutely spectacular! The hotel itself has definitely has a lot of character and charm. The room had two fabulous window seats that my children adored. As a whole, it was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and the location perfect.

Room Tip: Pick one with a view of the water.

Hotel is perfect for a night away from city living as it is the picturesque Cobh. Myself and my partner have stayed in the Commodore twice now and hope to continue to be regular visitors.

As I live in a City and like a very quiet room when staying in hotels, I can be a difficult customer to please but the reception staff were helpful, understood my dilemma and were very patient. It only took 3 room changes to be content with my choice - not many hotels would have been as accommodating - special thank you to the receptionist for her patience :)

The room was warm ..very quiet..comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was big with nice size bath. I like the fact this hotel provides good size mugs as well with their tea making facilities. Room as with the rest of the hotel was full of character which makes it "special and unique" for a hotel of its historical setting.

Next time we will enjoy more of what the hotel and area has to offer as this time it was a flying visit for the one nite so I cannot comment on the food etc.
