“Amazing family holiday!”
Reviewed 1 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

e had an amazing time at Yvonne and Richard's place - we can't get our 2-year-old daughter to stop talking about it! Richard was very communicative before our stay, and when we arrived he welcomed us with one of his daughters providing our daughter with some DVDs to watch. Our daughter was the invited into their garden to play on the trampoline and swings while the parents unpacked... It really couldn't have been a warmer welcome! The boathouse itself is a really lovely space. Great kitchen with essentials such as oil, salt, pepper, washing up liquid etc. Nice sleeping area upstairs - big double bed for the parents and our daughter had her very own big cot with a pillow etc What we liked best of all though (and what makes this place stand out of the crowd as far as we're concerned) is all the little extra touches that Yvonne & Richard put in to make our stay really enjoyable. For example, Richard loaned us a big pushchair that was great for the walking out in the country and on the beach, etc (we'd only brought our stroller), and also a big baby carrier if we'd wanted to use that instead. The fact that our daughter was invited to play in their house & garden was brilliant too, as well been thoughtfully loaned some babies and baby pushchairs to play with, etc. We also enjoyed the fairy walk in the garden, and saying hello to their two dogs and two cats.. For the adults there is a wine-swap so if you feel like a bottle then just go to the cupboard and replace it the next day :-) Also a bunch of games to play such as Cluedo, Journey through Europe... The area itself is also beautiful - the boathouse is up on a hill so be prepared for a windy drive up from the village (it's totally worth it though!). It just means that you get a real sense of getting away from it all. Baltimore is a nice little place with some great restaurants, we got the ferry to Sherkin Island and ate at the Islander's Rest who make a mean seafood chowder.. Overall we couldn't be happier with our stay, it was a real family welcome to a quiet and peaceful place that it still within easy reach of so many things to see and do. Many thanks to Yvonne, Richard & their daughters. Maybe our daughter will stop talking about it one day :-)

“Fantastic getaway”
Reviewed 1 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Had a fantastic stay here a few weeks ago. Yvonne and Richard really thought of everything. It was like a home away from home, we didn't have to bring any extras with us for our little girl, which made the trip so easy. Its a very family friendly house and you really couldn't ask for more. A lovely cosy getaway, with beautiful views....just really relaxing. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks a million for everything.

“Beautiful Baltimore Residence.”

We stayed at Cedar Boathouse around the August weekend just gone. The property is maintained to a high standard and its location on one of the highest points around Baltimore allows for some great views. It's just a few minutes drive from Baltimore village and is an ideal spot for exploring the beauty that West Cork has to offer. Richard and Yvonne were very accommodating hosts and couldn't do enough for us.

“College girls getaway”

The girls and I had a great time here in August. Yvonne and Richard were the most welcoming hosts who helped us find a boat trip to see the sights and the dolphins when everywhere we rang were booked out as the weather was scorching and everyone seemed to have had the same idea as us! The boat house was very peaceful and the sunset view was stunning. The barbecue was perfect for cooking and there is even a secret stash of beverages if you have run out! We hope to get a chance to return soon.

Thanks so much guys. :)
Here is the translation:
The boathouse was the highlight of our trip. It is large, but comfortably furnished and includes everything on equipment, which must have a holiday home. From the terrace you can overlook the beautiful valley. The boat house is the ideal starting point for hikes and excursions. If we had to make a choice, or did not know exactly where, Richard helped us with a lot of warmth and humor. We definitely want to come back. For us it was pure holiday.
